"Bye, mom!" I yelled. I closed the door behind me and looked into the bright world. The school wasn't too far from my home but it would be nice to have a car once and awhile.
My mother and I went independently after my father was put in jail for abuse. We had everything when we were our perfect family of three. Of course, everything that's perfect always has it's secrets. I thought we were happy but apparently there was more beyond the picture.

"Move it, bitch." Cheryl grinned at the sight of me ignoring her. I choose to ignore her because I knew if I get on her bad side, things wouldn't end well for the both of us. I can't let her see me break down because I know that she'll want to make it worse. By break down, I mean go full on god mode.
She's literally a walking Barbie. She has dark raven hair, blue eyes and gorgeous skin. I would kill to look like her, sadly her personality isn't as pretty as her looks. That's what I hated about her. I envy her with a deep hatred.
"At least I'm not a manipulative whore." I whispered to myself.
"What did you say?" She stopped in her tracks and turned around.
I scoffed and turned around to face her. "I said, I better get fixing that door." I stuttered with an innocent smile, pointing towards a random door. Cheryl began to walk towards me, slamming my locker shut. She began to giggle loudly. I still can't believe that anyone would date a bitch like her. She's literally a stone, cold whore. Her laugh is just as ugly as her personality. What's so good about her?
I looked at the ground then looked back up to meet with her eyes. I smiled.
"A slut. A manipulative whore. That's what I said." I blurted with a smile, no fear showing. I made sure to pop out the 'manipulative' part. I nodded innocently. Her mouth was left open, she scattered the thoughts in her head, trying to find something to say back. She stared at my books and slapped them out of my hands. I'm guessing no one has really ever talked to her that way.
"Couldn't find a comeback?" I snickered, rolling my eyes as I watched her walk away. It's not like I could've found a comeback either. When it comes to roasts and all of that, I'm the worst at it. I don't know why I try.
I rolled my eyes. I didn't notice there was a crowd until she walked away. "Hey, you okay?" A voice asked, dropping down to the floor, helping me pick up my books.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I muttered, I looked up and I felt emptiness. Well holy fucking chicken nuggets.
In front of me, was Zane Feller. Zane has blond hair and beautiful green, hazel eyes. He's literally a perfect sculpture that god made with time and love. He is known to be a sweetheart, although sometimes, those who appear nice aren't always the same when you truly meet them. Well, that's what I see. Seeing someone like me and him together is a rare sight. Usually he's hanging out with Cheryl and other people who are in the top. By top, I mean, top dogs. The popular people. I would say I'm in the middle? I don't really know. I hang out with whoever. I guess it's not really a rare sight.
"I'm Zane." He smiled, handing me one of my textbooks. I already knew his name but I guess he didn't have to know that.
"Miel." I plastered a smile. This day couldn't possibly get worse. I stacked my binders and textbooks back in the order they were before Cheryl knocked them out of my hands. I stood up and met with Zane's green, hazel eyes.
