🌹M•O•A•N•I🌹Here I was, once again, at Lucas's condo. I knocked on the door and the turning locks echoed outside. It swung open and Lucas peered out. His eyes darted down both sides of the hall.
I bit my tongue, "Lucas, what're you—" He yanked me in and slammed the door.
He took off his hat and hoodie and hung them on a coat hanger, "Damn, girl you looking good." He pulled me into his arms and gripped my waist.
I blushed, "Lucas..." He leaned forward with puckered lips, but I leaned back.
His eyes stuttered open, and a lost look appeared on his face, "Why?" He asked.
I removed his hands and backed away, "You ghosted me for a while." I pouted. "And that hurt. I'm usually not like this but, yeah." I rubbed my arms.
He grabbed both of my hands, "I'm sorry Nene. I just be busy."
I sighed, "That's the thing. You're always busy. It's barley any time we spend together before you get a call from work."
It made me question if Lucas was really the one. He was practically an adult, and I was just a teen in high school. He had adult business to tend to and I couldn't understand it because I wasn't at that stage of my life yet.
"You said you was okay with it..."
I rolled my eyes, "Yes, I know what I said, but I regret saying it now. I don't think I can always do this with you." My eyes teared.
He pulled me in for a hug, "Okay, from now on, I'm not gon let my work get in front of our relationship."
I rubbed his naked back, "Lucas, I think I'm in love with you." I mumbled.
He pulled away and smiled.

I closed the door behind me and turned around to face my mama, "What you mean you don't know where she is?" She rolled her neck.
"Mama, I just don't know. She told me she was gon' take a Uber home."
She put her fingers on her temples and shut her eyes, "I don't like this Hakeem." She walked into the living room and I followed. "First, you got Tyler showing up and—"
I wrinkled my forehead, "Wait, what you mean Tyler showed up?" She plopped on the couch and crossed her legs.
She fanned me off, "He dropped Aries off."
I put my head back, "Mama you actin like it ain't serious. Why you ain't call me?"
She looked at me with a stiff face, "I did Hakeem. What's the problem?"
"Ma, you know wassup. Ion trust him."
"Are y'all still upset with each other? I thought you said 'brothers' fight." She used air quotations.
I clasped my hands, "That ain't my brother though. Not after seeing what he did do to Jess."
"Okay, him showing up is the least important thing right now."
"Ma, no it ain't!" I pierced my lips shut and cleared my throat. "My fault, you got Chris in the hospital and Tyler bringing his son here... that ain't adding up."
She sat up with rounded eyes, "You said Chris is where?"
I facepalmed myself, "He's in the hospital..."
I forgot to not mention it. I lied and told her we were dropping off Jess so she wouldn't get anxious.
"Go get my damn IPad." She demanded.
