M O A N I

I sat in 6th period with blurred vision. I couldn't see a thing and all my mind could focus on was both Dynasty and Lucas.

I rubbed my eyes, and my vision cleared up; only a little bit. My head started to nod as drowsiness took my over I'd been crying ever since lunch ended.

Dynasty would've never been kidnapped if I was still talking to her; she would've been at my house around the that time. She always spent the night every time her brother was staying at her house.

Lucas promised to keep a lookout for Dynasty saying he would know where she was. I knew he was only saying that to comfort me and assure me everything was okay, and it wasn't.

My phone buzzed and I glanced at it. I managed to see a text from my mom; wasn't that easy.

Mom:
"Jessica told me what happened, do you want to come home?"

I was astonished that she even cared. After all, I ran away and she was still trying to let me be free and be comforting.

I looked down at my fingers. I'm not weak. I could make it through the day. My teacher approached my desk.

"Moani are you okay?" He whispered.

Shocking, people actually gave a damn about how someone else was feeling. There must've been something in the air; something strong.

I nodded my head with my mouth gaped open. The bell rang and everyone got up except for me. I stood up groggy after everyone had left.

Time went so fast, yet I moved so slow.

I got into my car quickly and started the engine. It was the end of school and I knew Zelda was going to ask to hitch a ride. I wasn't gon let her ride wit me. Not today and not any other day.

Zelda was a little weird. I mean I was flirting with her first but, I ain't think she'd take it so seriously. She wanted to do som in the car but, how she suggested it weirded me out. "You can pretend to be Harry Potter, I'll make you scream Allakazam!".

Uhm not that I ain't want it but, she just not who I wanted touching Mr.Long. Not my pretend cousin.

Ariel was the one I wanted touching me.

I backed out of my parking spot and exited the parking lot. While heading home I saw Ariel walking on the sidewalk. I turned on my hazard lights and rolled down the window.

"Girl what you doing walking? You live for as hell!"

She looked at me and scoffed, "Ill get there in due time. Bye!" She continued walking.

"Man let me take yo ass home. You live an hour away." I tried bargaining with her.

She shook her head, "I'm great. Thank you but, no thank you."

It started to rain and she put her backpack over her head.

I turned on my windshield wipers and squinted at her, "Ariel why the fuck you gotta be so difficult. You gon be sick by time you get home."

She sucked her teeth, "There's this thing called medicine."

I slammed on the breaks and unlocked my the doors, "Ariel!" I yelled as she continued walking.

I got out the car and ran after her, "Come on Ariel. You got me in the rain wit you. What else I gotta do to prove I want you?" I asked desperately.

She turned around and looked in my eyes. She bit her lip and leaned in close, as if she was going to kiss me.

"What you can do is leave me the fuck alone..." she whispered sternly.

She turned back around and continued walking. What was it? Why couldn't I leave her alone?

I grabbed her arm softly and spun her around to face me, "Let me take you wit me. Please."

She jerked her arm away, "No!"

I huffed and walked away. Don't look back Hakeem. Keep moving forward.

I heard a squeal and a splash of water. I looked at Ariel seeing her completely drenched. A car rode pass and splashed her with water. As if she wasn't wet enough.

Even after that she continued to walk.

"Man fuck that shit."

I ran over to her and slung her over my shoulder.

She kicked and hit me, "Hakeem! Put me down!"

"Okay as you wish." I opened the back door and sat her inside.

I slammed it close and ran to the other side. I opened the door and slid in.

I took my shirt off. There was no point in wearing it. It was soaked.

She laughed, "Wow, do you expect me to get naked too?"

I started to drive down the road, "Not if you don't want to. I'd suggest taking off the wet clothes but you'd think I'm tryna be slick."

"You damn right I would." She said with attitude.

She folded her arms and sat back, "You basically just kidnapped me."

"No, I saved yo ass. Why you gotta be so stubborn?"

I forgot how stubborn girls were. All girls fell to my feet. I didn't need to work for the attention of anybody.

"Why you gotta be such a fuckboy?" She retorted.

"Cause even when you loyal as fuck females find a way to fuck you over smart ass." I snapped.

"Did that happen?" Her tone softened.

"So many times I lost count." I laughed the pain off.

Thing about me is I wasn't always a fuckboy, playboy, hoe, playa; whatever you want to call me. I just ain't think it was any girl that would treat me good. Every female I came across cheated or used me for money, food, even popularity.

So, why not use the females that want to be used?

I could tell Ariel was different. I knew she was a party girl but, there wasn't anything wrong with that. Most of all I knew she was just stressed. Tyler stayed spreading Ariels business so I knew what was going on in her household which explained every little thing she did.

She crawled into the front seat, "You want to talk about it ?" She asked.

"Nah bruh I'm good."  I said slowly.

She rolled her eyes. Piece by piece she started to strip herself.

She threw her clothes in the backseat, "Ugh, soaking wet. Well, you could always start with why you let that girl get in ya face like that."

"At first, I ain't know if you was really good. I thought you was just fucking wit me."

"How you know I'm not now?"

"You ain't said a thing about money, food, or sex."

She raised her eyebrows, "Those things just don't be on my mind honestly."

"I know. That's why I need you. Well want you."

I pointed to the back, "There's some gym clothes in my bag in the back."

She reached into the back and grabbed my bag, "Is this your gym bag?" She raised an eyebrow.

I snickered, "Yeah."

She opened the bag up and her nose flared, "Hakeem it stinks!"

I laughed, "I know." She hit me.

She pulled a red shirt out and threw the bag in the backseat, "Make a left at the stoplight." She put the shirt on.
