🌹M O A N I🌹

I looked out the window of the bus as it came to a halt. My body jerked forward, only a little bit.

Once the door opened everyone except for me and Jessica stood up. We usually waited for everyone to exit first before leaving.

As soon as the last person hopped off so did we. We walked down the bus ramp and joined the line of kids waiting for the doors to open.

Jessica looked at her phone, "This bus is always late. We only have five minutes to sit down." She rolled her eyes. "Why're we boycotting Hakeem's hood Uber again?"

I chuckled, "Because he can't drive for shit." I shrugged.

The school doors opened and we merged in.

"...But your cousin hitched a ride a with him. Did she not get the memo?"

I looked at the ceiling and shook my head, "She doesn't need a memo she'll figure it out."

As soon as we started heading to the GYM the bell rang. I laughed seeing Jessica's triggered face.

"That's not funny my feet hurt."

I looked down the hall seeing Jerome walk towards her. She had no idea.

"They ain't finna be hurtin' for long."

She squinted her already Asian eyes, " What are yo— Jerome!!" She yelled as he picked her up and carried her away.

I continued walking to my first period. After immediately stepping foot in class I dropped my backpack on my desk and plopped into my seat.

Just when class started I looked around realizing barley anybody was there. If I would've got the message that it was "skip ya first period day" I would've never shown up.

My phone buzzed and I snatched it out of my pocket. A text from Lucas appeared on my lock screen.

I strongly rolled my eyes.

Ex- Or Som like that:
Come outside.

Me:
I'm good.

Ex- Or Som like that:
Girl come on. Ik you ain't doin shit in that class.

I looked at the board hoping to prove him wrong only to read "Log onto Schoology/test review"

Today was just full of eye rolls for me.

Me:
We not even together no mo.

Ex- Or Som like that:
Who said?

Me:
I said.

Ex- Or Som like that:
I don't recall. Lemme explain.

There wasn't much to explain but, by the way, my stomach was rumbling; it wouldn't have been that bad to talk over breakfast.

Carelessly, I walked out of class and walked to the bus ramp doors.

"Where yo ass goin'"

I turned around and looked at Hakeem who had an eyebrow raised and folded arms.

I poked my lip out, "Ugh, you look and sound like mama."

He sucked his teeth, "Mann, Where yo ass goin' ? You ain't got no business walkin' out there."

"I got plentiful of business outside these doors. Go to class and mind ya own."

He laughed, "You must've forgot I got mama number and she quick to pick up the phone when I call."
