Luna searched the whole base and was disappointed when she realized it was completely empty. There was no trace of the witch hunters, the weapons were gone and the rooms had nothing left in them. Once Luna realized there was no point in staying in the abandoned building she went back to the hospital. She walked into Venus's room and said: "Venus, are you sure that was the right place? I went in and it was completely empty.". Venus nodded her head and replied, "Yes, that was the base's location. They must've fled already.". Luna decided, "Okay, once you've healed we'll begin looking for them. We'll search the whole damn country if we have to!". Venus was shocked by her sister's determination, she agreed to the plan.

After several weeks had gone by the sisters were ready to begin their search for the witch hunters, they didn't travel by broomstick because they didn't want to bring any extra attention to themselves. They brought with them luggages and food just in case they were out on the road for awhile. The day they started their journey David came over to say goodbye. David exclaimed: "Hey, be careful. I want you back in one piece, alright? I love you.". Luna replied, "I love you, too!" and gave him a kiss with tears in her eyes. She felt like this was the end, like the witch hunters really were going to kill her when she did find them. Luna and Venus drove off, they didn't know where they were going but they knew who they were looking for.
Venus was put in control of driving, she thought: "Where do I even start? Where would they be? Which direction do I go in?". Luna could see her sister was in distress and said, "Don't worry, we'll find them. They're after witches, right? So let's just go to areas where a lot of them are.". Venus felt somewhat better now that they had a plan. Luna hated to admit it but she was having fun listening to her music and eating her chips. She told Venus, "You know, I know it's scary being out here looking for the witch hunters and all but I'm happy we're together at least.". Venus replied, "Aww Luna, isn't it funny our sisterly bonding time is so different from most people! The sisters I know usually have makeovers but here we are on the chase for murderers!". In all of the stress they had gone through it was nice for them to share a rare moment of laughter.

The two of them had been driving for a couple of hours with no luck when they saw a gun store. Luna cried, "Pull over, pull over!". Venus retorted: "Luna! Why? We're not that good with guns! You're just wasting my time!". Luna explained, "No, no. That's not why. The witch hunters might be in there restocking on weapons.". Venus responded, "Ah, clever girl! Okay, I'll pull over now.". Luna disliked the store from the second she went inside, it smelled of beer and cigarettes. The people inside were mostly middle aged, white men with beards wearing plaid shirts. Venus didn't see anyone who looked like the witch hunters. She asked the cashier: "Has a large group of people, in their 30s or I guess maybe late 20s, some of them were guys and some were girls, been here?". The cashier replied: "Lady, I get tons of customers everyday. I don't remember what every damn one of them looks like!". Venus and Luna sadly shook their heads then returned to the car.

Night had fallen so the sisters checked into the nearest motel. Luna whined, "Do we have to stay in this awful place?" as she looked around their room and saw chipped paint, bugs on the ground and a weird stain on the bed. Venus replied: "Yes, it's on the way and all we can afford. Plus I don't think we can get any other place on such short notice.". Luna let out an angry sigh and slouched down onto the bed. Venus joked, "Hey, it can't be worse than Bates Motel!". With all the driving Venus felt tired so she went to bed right away while Luna texted David about the events of the day. When she did try to sleep she couldn't because the bed was too uncomfortable and the walls were paper thin so she could hear the person next door snoring loudly.

Venus and Luna headed out to the next morning as early as they could. Luna usually protested when someone woke her up earlier than 9am but this time she didn't, she wanted to leave the motel as soon as possible. Venus asked: "So, Luna, how did you sleep last night?". Luna laughed, "Are you kidding me? With that bed? The snoring? I didn't get a wink!". Venus responded, "I don't know, I was just so tired I slept like a baby.". They grabbed some breakfast at a nearby Starbucks, Luna needed every sip of her coffee. They got back into the car, put their music on, grabbed the map and started their search again.

Luna and Venus continued to drive for what seemed like forever. They would stop at places that they thought the witch hunters would go to but kept getting the same old answer: "no, we haven't seen them." or "I don't keep track of what all my customers look like.". At a certain point Venus shook her head and said: "Are we ever just going to admit that maybe these witch hunters are impossible to find and we're never going to find them? I mean we both school to return to, let's just go back home.". Luna was conflicted, she replied: "Oh, I don't know, Venus. I feel like I owe to my fellow witches to find these people. I really don't want to give up! I want to see the witch hunters dead, quite frankly. I know the right thing to do would be to find a nonviolent way to get rid of them but I'm freaking angry. Then again, you're right. Maybe we're just wasting time, maybe we should just go back home. I don't want to fail school and I'll admit I miss David.". Venus nodded her head and the two of them started heading back home.

Venus and Luna drove for a few hours before they realized they were lost. Luna exclaimed: "Oh, what are we going to do? Google Maps keeps telling us where to go but we still end up driving in circles! This isn't good, this isn't good!". Venus patted her sister's back and said, "Don't worry! We'll figure something out! Have I ever let you down before?". Luna replied, "Um..yeah. At my sixth birthday party when you said you'd get me a blue raspberry ring pop but I ended up with a red cherry one!". Venus responded, "How come you can remember that but none of the formulas for your science tests?". Venus pulled over the car and the two of them tried to map out where they were and how they could get home. Venus exclaimed: "Luna! Luna! It's them! It's the witch hunters! I saw them get into that car!" as she pointed excitedly. Luna shouted: "Let's go after them! Now!" and Venus started the car. She threw all sense of caution out of the window and drove at maximum speed. They were going to chase that car until they caught it no matter how long it took and at what expense.
