I stood in a guest room as I pull on my dress(1). It was the one Damian liked most when we went shopping. I looked in the mirror and smiled. I looked good for what I was worth. I always did my best to look good out in the streets, making a impression on people is important to me regardless if its good or bad.

And after dealing with the harshness of Gotham's  streets I find dealing with the pettiness of the Gotham elite far more troublesome than for what it's worth. But, Damian Wayne... the one elite that I care for his opinion of.

I froze after that thought. It finally sunk in that Damian Wayne is my date to the Wayne Christmas Ball. I gulp harshly and look over at Rand who wore his little gold bow tie. I let out a sigh and leaned down to pet him.

I rubbed right between and around his ears. I watched has his tounge fell out of his mouth causing me to form a amused smile.

I stiffen when I hear a knock at the door. I took a deep breath and walked over to the door. Once I opened it I caught sight of Damian.

His green eyes soft but wide. A bearly caught that strange arabic phrase slip from his lips. I hesitate to take his arm as held it out for me.

We quietly walked from my room to the ballroom. Rand travled behind us and his paws were the only sound we could hear.

Damian, Rand, and I all stood at the top of the stare case. Damian nodded over to Alfred signaling the go ahead to announce us in.

"Introducing Master Damian Wayne and Miss Citali Todd with her Partner Rand." Annouced. All the heads in the room turned to us and the whispers began.

I gripped Damian's arm tight my nerves spiking drasticly. Damian descritly leaned over into my ear as he lead me down the staircase. "Relax beloved, we'll be left alone soon enough" he whispered.

We finally reach the bottom and I somewhat relaxed however the whisperes only grew from there. We were indeed left alone but only by physical means.

I sat at the table food in front of me as I threw everyother bite to Rand. Damian was talking to a group of people with his father across the room.

So here I sat all by my self. I huff down at Rand who just waited for his next piece of food. I look over a Jason who is looking just as bored as I am. I sent him a small smile and he returned it. "Jason?" I ask propping my head in my hand.

Jason looked over at me and saw the look on my face "I know that look..." He groans. I shot him an amused smirk "what look?" I muse. Jason shot me a I-don't-believe-you look. "don't give me that bullshit. I know that look..." He repeated.

"IT's the same look I gave Bruce when I asked," he mused. I rolled my eyes and smirked "asked what?" I scoff. Jason gave me another look only this one more serious "When I asked him why." He shot at me.

My eyes widen and glanced away for a moment. "I thought so," Jason chuckled, I looked back him and glared. I sat straight in my chair and looked him right in the eye. "Why?" I asked in a hard voice.

Jason looked over at me but couldn't meet my gaze. Jason ran a hand threw his hair and sighed, he didn't say anything but he looked in deep thought. "Jason. I asked why?" I demanded, Jason looked up and the look on his face almost scared me.

It was a mix of emotions none of which are hostile but none of which I can describe. "Anubis I took you in because I saw myself," He snapped. "Sure you were a little more organized, a little more clean, and a little more stable but I saw myself." He explained.

Jason had a slight laugh in his voice but he seemed almost pained. "Jason..." I whisper, he looked at me with a small smile. "thanks...thanks for taking me in." I smile. Jason just nodded but a smile graced his lips as they brush against the rim of his beer.

I opened my mouth to continue but a hand touched my shoulder. I looked back and smiled as I see Damian standing behind me. He held out his hand as red dusted over his dark skin. I look at Jason who gave me a teasing smirk. He looked off to the side like he had done or seen nothing.

I roll my eyes and took his hand. Damian lead me all the way out on the dance floor for a dance and like every other time I stood on his well polished shoes scuffing them with my heels. He waltzed us gracefully around the dance floor as I rested my head on his shoulder.

"we should do this more often." I state randomly as my eyes dart from reporter to reporter who are taking our picture. "we do beloved, we do this every ball" He chuckles, "No..." I groan "Like you should ask me to be your date more often. even though you ditched me the first half of it." I tease.

I felt Damian tense up "relax Damian. I'm only teasing" I laugh. I felt Damian jerk me closer to him . I grunt as I am forced against his chest. I glare up at him when I feel his chest rumble with silent laughter. "Allow me to make it up to you beloved." He smirks.

I felt a shiver run up my spine as his soft eyes grow a shade darker. I had a slight panic when my feet where no longer on top of his. He spin me in the air and I let out a slight laugh despite my slight panic.

Damian glided us across the floor putting on a show for anyone who is watching by the end of the song the whole ballroom is cheering. "how was that?" He asked as he evened his slight uneven breaths.

"amazing, I think this makeups for you slip up earlier." I answer. Damian's face relaxed and held a small smile. "I'm glade I pleased you my goddess." He teased, "As do I faithful warrior." I tossed back.

It was a pretty damn good night if I say so myself.
