I walk down the street with nikkita and Rand. Three men follows a foot behind us. We are in the shopping center of Gotham. I smirk as I watch Nikkita looks around nervously. "worry not darling. I have this covered" as I look threw the windows at the small bedroom display.
I him as I open the door pulling Nikkita with me. I look around for a nit before looking at Nikkita. "See anything you like?" I ask as I look at another bedframe. "well..." She mumbles as she looks over at a unbearablly cheap looking bed frame. "No" I snap. Her eyes widen at my demand.
"Lesson number two, class is key. You can be the biggest mess in Gotham but remember this...On goes the lipstick and eyeliner and you best be the prettiest mess Gotham has ever seen." I warn. I watch Nikkita nod. "what does that have to do with the bed?" She asks.
"what I said doesn't just refer to your appearance . It applys to everything including your room." I explain. I scan the store before my eyes landed on a beautiful canopy bed. It had sheer curtains and the wood is a pretty pale color.
"How about that one?" I ask pointing over to it. HEr eyes widens in awe, I watch as she walks over to it. I felt my self unknowingly glare as I watch her flench at the sight of the price tag. I didn't give her a chance to decline as I called over a sales person and handed them my card.
"I want that bed, the matching vanity, and the dresser." I demand. The sales man nods and I look to the first guard. HE stood in attention as he notices my attention. "I'm going to give you an address and you are to take this funature there. Take it to the second highest floor and put it togather." I list as I wrote out the address.
He nods before walking over to the chec put counter. I look at Nikkita who gaps wildly at me. "Come now darling I think its time for you to find new attire." I smirk as I tugged her into me and locked out arms togather.
Nikkita and I walk threw the more thrifty shops of Gotham. Behind us the remaining two guards carried our bags. one carried mine which was only a few but the other held many off brand shopping bags from the many thrift shops we've visited.
"Always start off humble my dear. Designer brands aren't always my taste but they always come later in down the road." I smile. Nikkita nods with a large grin.
Nikkita and I walked threw a few designer stores. It's not really my taste but I did see a pieces of jewelry for myself and maybe a watch for Damian. I made Nikkita pick out a least one designer dress without looking at the tag.
After that i made her pick two pairs of shoes and a one jewelry set. I spent a good chunk of money but it was worth it to see her sparkling face.
We made one last stop to the hardware store to pickout some paint for her walls. She ended up with a pastel princess pink color. It almost surprises me that she choose such a color. But she's only thirteen.
She must still be in middle school. The girl in front of me is a pretty little girl who had no future but now...now I'll make sure she has one. I watch as skipped along the sidewalk the two men with us carrying our bags and watching her closely in case she falls.
"Is there anything else you think you'll need?" I ask calmly as I glance at rand who trotted along her. I feel a smile slip onto my lips as I watch the two. Nikkita stops and looks back at me. I saw the wanting look in her eyes and I'm fully prepared to fulfill it.
"Can you change my name?" she asks. My eyes widen and I top in my tracks. "I-" I started unsure how to answer that. "I don't think I can do that." I whisper. "Why would you want your name changed?" I ask softly. Nikkita looks down at her feet and I felt a pinch of guilt.
"My father named me that..." She started. I watch her keep her head down as she kicked pebbles and rocks across the sidewalk. "He wanted a boy but he got me. He did his best to make me out as a son. Even considered surgery to make me look like one." she mumbled.
I felt my blood...boil. I felt a heat in in my chest burst and it made me agitated. "He eventually gave up and cast me out. I moved place to place staying with friends." She shrugged. "I never understood how being a girl worked until one of my friends older sister offered to teach me. She lent me a dress and took me out to a party where I met you." She finished with a small smile.
I look down at her softly. "Well I'm not going to teach you how to be a girl like that bitch." I hiss. I watch Nikkita deflate. "I'm going to teach you how to be a woman." I finish with a smile. "Slowly!" I added hurriedly. "We don't need you growing up too fast. It's unhealthy." I mumble,
I hear Nikkita giggle at my protective comment. "If I were to some how get your name changed what would you choose?" I ask already thinking of who i should call to get it changed. I glance at her and she's already looking at me.
"You choose. your basically my mom now." she smiles. I flinch at the word mom. "Lets- lets not think of me as your mom." I whisper to her. I saw her face fall and my hear dropped. "Let me be your older sister." Is smile shyly.
Nikkita looks at me bit disappointed but she seemed okay with it. It was quite the rest the way back to the den. I help take her new things to her room where her new furniture is already set up.
I put all her stuff down but as I leave I hear her call out my name. I turn to face her and she watches the floor like it's the most interesting thing in the world. She didn't say anything so I assumed she changed her mind and I continue to leave.
"Thank you." I herd her whisper thinking I wouldn't hear her. I smile warmly "Your vary welcome." I reply before closing the door and walking to my room.
