I woke up the next morning to Damian shifting in my bed. I open my eyes to look at him as he sat over the edge of the bed. I sat up and he glanced back at me before he went back to putting on his shoes.
We didn't say anything to one another as we both got ready for our morning. I showered and got dressed rather quickly as Damian waited for me in the kitchen. He shuffled around the kitchen looking for something to eat. however Jason hasn't gone to the store recently.
Damian huffed and glared over at me. I sent him a apologetic look and he simply nods silently. He left the kitchen and came back with our coats. I gave him a confused look but he simply rolled his eyes.
"Let's go out to eat sense Todd has yet to supply you with food." He scoffed. I didn't say anything as I put on my coat as well as a pair of shoes before Damian led me, Rand, And the dog I have finally named Gannon out of the apartment and to the streets.
We ended up walking around the city for awhile stretching our legs and letting the dogs relive themselves before actually finding a place to eat. The place we found was small and relatively quite. They even allowed Rand and Gannon to enter once Damian explained they were trained.
Damian and I sat down at a table in the vary back in hopes to unnoticed by anyone who may or may not walk in. We ordered and I choose a small plate of eggs and bacon as Damian ordered a fruit bowl.
The waiter offered a plate of sausage and Bacon for the dogs but I didn't think it was the best idea for them to eat human food right now. I usually feed them their dog food in the mornings and if the chance presents its self I would feed them human food later in the day.
Damian ordered water as I ordered a coffee. The look on Damian's face I did so amused me as he muttered something along the lines of being too much like Jason. I simply ignored the comment and looked down at Rand and Gannon.
Damian pulled out his phone as he did he groaned. He showed me the local news feed to see that the stunt we pulled last night filled the local news feed. Luckily no one had threw me under the bus and neither of us were caught at the scene.
I sigh and look down at the two dogs that lay on the floor. Damian pulled his phone away from me as our food arrived. we ate in silence but as soon as the bill came our eyes locked. Both our hands shot out to grab it but we ending up scaring the poor waiter.
The bill went flying into the air. Damian and I's eyes locked again just before we both dove for it. My fingers just touched it before Damian's whole hand does. I glare at him quickly before yanking it from his grip. I jump up and looked at the waiter he looked at us shocked but he also looked like he was ready to laugh at us.
I smirked at Damian as I payed for our meal and Damian's irritated look increased at my smugness all threw out the process. We left the café after we finished our plates and took another small stroll threw the park.
Like every other time of peace it's ruined. This time by the paparzzi. They stormed at us and I tensed up. I felt fear creep up my spine as the feelings from my last incounter came creeped up with it.
I felt damian's arm curl around my waste as he picked up the pase in hopes to loose the crowd of camrea men. With Rand and Gannon in front of us the first few men shuffeled back afraid of the two dogs.
Damian used that as a distraction so he could quickly turn us in a new direction. We got a few feet away before Rand and Gannon joined us but the crowd of cameras was right on their tails. Damian and I made a B line to the nearest bus station.
Just as the two dogs hopped on the doors close and the bus drove off. Damian sat down in a seat as did I the two dogs at our feet. It was silent, there's just enough people to fill the seats so no one had to stand.
Until the next stop came and one vary large pregnant woman climbs on ever so slowly. As soon as she got close enough I stood from my seat to let her have it but Damian pushes me back down and let her have his instead.
She gave Damian a warm smile before sitting down. "Your boyfriend is vary polite." She smiles, my eyes widen as she said that. Before I could answer Damian steps in "Thank you." He says in a mellow tone.
She then looks down at the dogs and my eye widen as I saw Gannon inching his way closer to the woman's swollen stomach. I swat him away and he backs away unwillingly as he still tries to inch his way closer to her.
She chuckles before pulling him into her. I watch in amazement as he properly sniffs her stomach before nuzzling into it. I glance at the lady as she giggles at him. "Is he always like this?" She asks fondly.
I shook my head as I stare at the woman. Her soft loving gaze never leaves Gannon as he continues to love on her. I bite my lip as I look at Rand who stood by me watching the two interact.
Rand nudges me in their direction already knowing what I'm thinking. "Actually." I start pulling my gaze away from Rand to her. "He's a foster dog I've been hosting. I have been trying to find him a good home for a while now." I comment.
She looks over at me with wide eye "Really?" She gasps, "It's such a shame. he's such a good dog." She sighs. "He's fully trained too and really well behaved." I press. She looks at me and back at Gannon with a wanting look. I smirk to myself as I felt her eagerness grow.
"You know if your interested you can take him home, no paperwork required." I offer casually, but in reality I really hope she goes for my pitch. I watch as the woman looks down at Gannon as he looks right back at her.
I relax as I watch her resolve crumble and she lets out a soft sigh. "Well..." She grins, "I guess it's a good thing I'm on my way home now isn't it?" She asks but, it seems she was directing it more to Gannon than me.
I nod my head a large grin spreading across my face. "I suppose it is." I reply looking over at Damian who watches me softly. When the bus came to it's next stop the woman stood with Gannon in her arms.
"your such a sweet girl. Thank you..." She paused for a minute before giving me a confused look. "I never did catch your names." She laughs bashfully as she slowly makes her way to the exit. Just as she reaches it I smile softly giving Gannon one last look before turning to the lady.
"Anubis and Damian." I tell her just before she steps off, in her final moments on the bus her face twists in shock and I sent her small wave as the door closes and the bus takes off again. Damian sat back down with a small smile as I sat quietly.
I felt a tad bit empty with Gannon gone but its slowly filled knowing he was in good loving hands. Damian wraps an arm around my shoulder and rubs on it softly to comfort me. Three stops later Damian and I get off and walk to the apartment.
When we open the door Jason was in the living room with Roy and Cory. I gave them a small wave as Cory floats over to us with a large grin. Damian looks at her blankly as she grins at us "Citali! It's vary nice to see you again!" She says excitedly. I nod in response before walking to my room Damian right behind me.
"KEEP YOUR DOOR OPEN!" Jason yells as Damian and I glance at each other equally annoyed.
