I woke up the next morning to the blinding sun and Rand licking my face. I rolled over to avoid both but I regretted it as soon as Rand thought it be a good idea to sit on top of me. I groan and shove him off before pulling myself out of bed.

I walk over to my long lines of racks, some I picked up from abandoned stores, which are used to hold my clothes. I slide the hangers side to side and finally picked an outfit (1). I didn't waste anytime pouring food in Rand's bowl before making my own breakfast. I sat at my little wobbly table and watched Rand eat while I did.

When I finished I took the time to pick up a little and slipped on a pair of shoes. I then walked down the stares Rand of course following closely behind me. I walked slowly stopping every now and then to pet one of the dogs we've taken in. I made it the lobby and checked threw today's to-do list. Today was meeting with a resident mob leader.

From what I understood he hoped to reach an arrangement of peace but I hardly believe it's possible. I looked at the clock and realized I had some time to burn so I gather my usual intimations squad which included a German Shepard, a Doberman, and some weird Pitbull mix. Rand would obviously be coming as well but I usually use them to intimate people.

I gathered them up and had Rand take charge. They were trained enough to were I could walk the street with them and not have to use a leash. I lead Rand, who lead the pack, out of the building and out to the streets. We walked a couple of blocks before the whispers started again "Anubis" they would whisper. I've always hated that name.

I was no god or goddess or even a deity of any kind. I was just some street rat. When this all started I was just a girl on the streets looking for a way to make money. A lacky of a ringmaster had been out looking for competitors. I had Rand with me so the guy had offered a position for me.

I didn't take it. I hated the Dog fights. I had saved Rand from one when he was still a puppy and the fact that this guy tried to convince me to put him back in irritated me to no end. So much in fact I crashed the event. I took all the money I could and left.

The dogs back then just ran wild all around the city until I felt bad and took them in. The cycle continued until I managed to put it into some sort of organization. I had crashed so many dog fighting rings that word of me spread like wild fire. The ring leaders of Gotham labeled me as Anubis and it eventually stuck much to my dismay.

Ironically enough I am Egyptian on my father's side. I snapped out of my thoughts when I herd a scream. I look down my closest ally way and sighed. A woman being mugged. I continued to walk until Rand bit the back of my coat. He gave me a look and I groaned. I pulled up the hood of my coat and walked down the alley way. I stopped just a few feet away from the two before clearing my throat.

The dirty man had a nasty crooked grin "Come to join the fun?" he asked. The woman looked mortified as she began to struggled harder. I let out a annoyed huff "Not really. Actually this is none of my business, just a wrong turn down an alley" I muse dryly. The man scoffed "Then get the hell out of here." he sneered before turning back to his victim.

"Actually you didn't let me finish. Just because this isn't any of my business doesn't mean I'm not going to make it be." I stated cooly. The man looked back at me as I let out a whistle. The pack came charging down the alley way snarling and growling.

The man screamed and let go of the woman before jumping into the wall however, Rand had caught him by his foot and dragged him to the ground. He looked back at me as the rest of the pack snarled at him some had drool dripping from their snouts.

I took one hand out of my pocket and waved the terrorize lady over to me. She scurried over to me and I wrapped an arm around her. I began to walk away but I stopped and looked back. The man screamed at me to save him but I rolled my eyes. I look over to rand who was still waiting "Tear him apart." I said and continued to lead the lady out of the alley way.

I heard the man scream in agony as we left and the woman seemed a little less frazzled as we reached the opening of the alley way. "Anubis" she whispered. It took all I had to not say anything about the name as she reached into her bag and pulled out dog treats.

"They were for my dog but I think yours deserve them more than my little house pet." she smiled sheepishly. I took them and nodded in thanks before she hurried down the road to get where ever she needed to go. I waited until Rand and the pack came out of the alley way before we continued down the street.

I reached a massive over priced apartment building. I walked to the door and the door man held it open in fear of the dogs who are slightly covered in blood. I walked to the lobby desk. The women seemed to know who I was here for and she squeak the floor number to me and handed me an elevator card to get there. I walked to the elevator and pushed the up button the elevator door opened and I got in. The man inside looked at me.

A grunt I suppose as he held out his hand but Rand snarled at him. He flinched in fear and slightly backed himself in the corner of the elevator. I held my hand up to keep Rand quite before I handed him the card. He took the card and pushed the numbered button.

I waited quietly as I eyes the man who stood in the corner of the small moving room. When the door opened I handed the man a twenty dollar bill with a smug smirk. I walked out of the elevator only to meet another grunt.

He lead me threw two rooms until we reached a large lounge area. In the middle of the room was a couch and sitting on that couch was a man. Younger than I would have thought probably eighteen or early twenties. He gave me a grin and stood on his feet. "Anubis my darling welcome" he grinned but I saw his eyes flicker to my pack and their slightly blood covered coat.

"Trouble on the way here?" he asked uncertain. I shrugged and glanced around the room "Can I take your coat darling?" he asked trying his best to butter me up. I felt hand touch me and the pack let out load barks and growls. I felt the hand stiffen and freeze up. I let a amused smile slip onto my lips as I held up my hand to quite them down.

I slide my arms out of my coat and handed it to the man. The young mob leader seemed a little relived at the tense situation. He walked over to me with open arms and went to wrap one around me but stopped as he glanced at the dogs. He slowly wrapped an arm around me and lead me further into the room.

He sat me on the couch that was across from the one that he was sitting before. He then sat back down on his couch and gave me a charmed smile. I leaned back and crossed my arm and threw my right leg over the left one. He shifted in his seat before he spoke up again "Can I get you anything? a drink? food? Dog food?" he asked eyeing Rand who sat proudly at my side on the couch as the rest of the pack sat at my feet.

"what is it you want from me?" I asked directly. He stiffened and I began to see the slight sweat forming on his forehead. He grinned nervously and ran a hand threw his blonde hair. "Well my name is Jackson I am here on my father's behafe. He felt we could come to the best arrangement if you talked to someone young." He said. I nodded as that seemed to explain a lot.

"And what does this arrangement include of?" I asked. I see him gulp and rub his hands together. "Well my father had several ideas-" He started But I held up my hand "Well you and your father can send me a list of these ideas" I interrupted.

I picked up a napkin and a pen that was sitting on the small table in front of us. I wrote down the post office I visit for my mail and gave it to him. "Send It here. I'll review I and give you my response" I said.

I stood up from my seat and walked out with the pack behind me. What a day
