-=Ink's POV=-

I sucked a quick breath through my teeth, trying my hardest to control the multicolored tears that were slowly trailing their way down my cheek-bones. Failing, I instead turned to burying my shaking form in my blankets, muffling my sobs in a pillow. Only when a knock sounded on my closed door did I look up, my pillow damp and face tear-stained.

"W-Who is it..?" I shakily called out, a hiccup of a sob escaping me.

"InK! wHaTs WrOnG?" Error's familiar voice called back.

Oh, that's right, I had called him..

  "I..."

The door opened before I could give him a response. Immediately, I shrunk back into my comforter, tears starting to flow a little bit faster.

"WhAt HaPpEnEd?" I felt Error sit on the bed as he questioned me in a quiet voice.

"I-" I hiccuped and sniffed, wiping my eyes quickly before slowly pulling the blanket off of my head, "I o-overheard something a-and it s-scared me..."

Error's gaze locked with mine, "WhAt WaS iT?"

Ink crept up the stairs, not wanting to wake his sleeping house-mates. It was late, he had been talking with Error and he had just lost track of time. Error had in fact just left. He's been visiting more frequently ever since the sleepover.....

As Ink went to open his bedroom door, he heard low talking coming from Dream's room. Curious, Ink pressed his skull against the closed door and listened.

"W-What do you mean he's not g-getting better?!" Dream said, his voice wavering.

"Y-Yes, he has..." Dream continued after a short pause. Must be a phone-call.

  "He's what?"

There was another short pause before a sniffle, then a choked sob.

  "N-No, he c-can't be."

Ink was starting to worry. He had a pretty good feeling who Dream was talking about...

"H-He can't be terminal! T-There must b-be a m-mistake!!" Dream was crying hard now, it showed in his voice.

"H-How long do you t-think he has..?"

Ink had also started to cry, silent tears falling unnoticed from his lightless, empty sockets. A large pit of dread was also starting to form in his stomach, a writhing, twisting feeling that was unpleasant to say the least. He wasn't stupid. He knew what terminal meant.

"Six months..? O-Okay, I g-guess it c-could be w-worse..." Dream didn't sound so sure of himself.

Ink clasped his hands over his mouth to muffle his own sobs, quickly shuffling over to his bedroom and silently latching the door.

Six.

Months.

He would die in six months.

Ink was terrified, he didn't want to die so soon. He didn't want to leave his friend behind, lost to the pages of time. He didn't want to leave Error without...

Another part of him, however, already accepted the fact that his life would be cut so short. That part almost expected this to happen. That why he had been trying to be so forward.

What did it matter, though? If Error did find out, it would just break his heart when Ink..

Ink sought refuge in his bed, not wanting to sleep, but simply attempt to find comfort in the softness of the blankets in pillows. And so there he sat, curled on his bed and waging a war inside his mind while he cried.

"I'm so scared.." I whispered, drawing his knees up to his chest.

"AnYoNe WoUlD bE iF tHeY kNeW tHeY wErE gOiNg To DiE...."

That got me going again, tears once again seeping from my eye-sockets.

"InK...." Error was curious when Ink got side tracked and wanted to tell him something, but decided that now wasn't the time to press the matter.

I heard a sigh before I felt Error gently pulled me into a hug. Immediately I latched onto him, sobbing into his shoulder and mumbling incoherent nonsense.

"ShHhHh... It'Ll Be FiNe.." Error was tense, of course I knew why, but he still managed to pat my back gently without crashing himself.

"H-How can you say that...?" I hiccuped, unburying my head from his shoulder for a moment.

"I jUsT hAvE a FeElInG tHiNgS wIlL tUrN oUt. BeSiDeS, iT cOuLd Be WoRsE. yOu CoUlDv'E bEeN tAkEn LiKe KiLlEr" Error pointed out.

"I-I guess..." I softly replied, a small smile forming on my face.

"Error..?" I asked, letting go of him and scrubbing my eye sockets.

  "YeS, sHoRtY?"

"Don't call me that!" I lightly punched him in the arm before my mood fell again, "I was wondering if we could go to the park... I just... I want to spend as much time in my favorite places as I can..."

Error nodded and got off of the bed, holding a hand out for me to take.

And so, we were off, hand in hand as we walked through the park, marveling at warm colors of the leaves and enjoying the crisp fall air, nearly forgetting about the events that had happened in the last 24 hours.
