-=Error's POV=-
I laid on my bed motionlessly as I stared at the ceiling.
A week. That's how long it's been since Ink died.
Who knew so much could happen in just 7 days?
I'm still getting used to having Geno back. He's much different now. Blue has moved back in with his brother, and Dream moved back into the house he used to share with Nightmare, since he's the only legal owner still around. That leaves the house Ink used to share with them empty.
Nightmare is... gone. So are the rest of my friend group. Well, except for Cross and Fell. I was told the rest were caught in the same rapids that had stranded me and Ink.
I found out the day after Ink's death. I know I should have felt something when I found out, but I didn't. I guess I used up all my emotion during those last few hours with Ink.
Now I don't feel much.
I sighed and glanced at my closed bedroom door. It's getting close to sunset, I think I should go now.
Getting off of my bed, I slowly pushed open my door and shuffled down the hall until I was in the living room. There wasn't anyone there, but the TV was on. It was turned to the news channel, and the headline read:
'Horrible Accident Causes 6 Students To Go Missing. Two Have Been Found, But Only One Survived.'
A new reporter then appeared on screen and began to talk about the incident. I was quick to turn the TV off after that. I already know all of the details, and I don't need to be reminded of what happened during that stupid field trip.
I pulled the hood of my black hoodie up as I pushed open the front door. I didn't bother to tell anyone I was going out. They know where I'm going. I've been doing this everyday since Ink died, after all.
I pulled the door closed and shoved my hands into my pockets, walking quickly down the sidewalk and avoiding touching the few people who passed me. My haphepobia's gotten a lot worse, and even the slightest touch can send me into a glitching panic.
I shook my head and back tracked some, having nearly missed my destination. It was completely void of people. Weaving around the few brambles that grew near the entrance, I walked through the rows of tombstones until I got to the one I was here for.
Ink's.
I sat down next to it and sighed, leaning back some.
"Hi InK..." I quietly said, "I'm.. StIlL hErE..."
Even though there was silence, I had a feeling he heard me.
"I hOpE yOu'Re DoInG bEtTeR... wHeReVeR yOu ArE."
I closed my eyes, listening to the quiet. A part of me hoped that when I opened my eyes-sockets, Ink would be sitting beside me instead of his grave. But, of course, that wasn't the case.
I hummed disappointedly and looked up at the sky, watching as it became alive with blazing colors. Ink would have loved this.
Suddenly, a voice shattered through the silence.
"Broseph!" Fresh yelled from the entrance of the cemetery, "Ma wants ya back home!
I hesitantly started to get up before remembering something.
"HoLd On.." I called, quickly digging around in my pocket before my fingers curled around a bit of cool metal.
I took the object out and held it by the blue string, letting it dangle from my fingers.
It was Ink's half of the necklace.
I managed to get ahold of it before the hospital staff discarded all of the stuff Ink had on him. Crouching down, I carefully set it down in front of the gravestone, near the base of it.
"HeRe..." I said, standing back up and giving a small, broken smile.
"Broseph!"
"CoMiNg."
I stuffed my hands back into the pockets of my hoodie, trudging slowly back to the entrance where Fresh was waiting. He just nodded at me and started walking into the direction of home. I started to follow him, but stopped for just a moment to glance back at Ink's grave one last time.
In the dying light, I could just make out the silhouette of a misty figure picking up the necklace. The sky blazed just a spark brighter, the fading sunset giving one last burst of color. And then it was gone. The sun dipped below the horizon and the person was gone.
The graveyard was empty once more.
