Things became a bit of a blur after that.

A member of a search and rescue team emerged from the treeline, followed by a second person. They immediately noticed that Ink was in way worse condition than the rest of us, so they wasted no time in guiding us out if the forest.

We were actually closer to getting out of that damned forest than I thought, only about five minutes away from a nearby road. An ambulance and some police were there, waiting for us. Paramedics took Ink. I begged to stay with him. A blurred ambulance ride later, a quick check-up and cast over my arm, some light questioning and now I'm here, curled up on a hospital chair outside of the room Ink was in.

Blue and Dream were here, too, but they weren't talking very much. Good, that lets me sort out the mess that is my mind right now.

I sighed, pulling my knees to my chest and glancing at the clock on the wall, dully watching it tick. Time seemed so slow when you were waiting for something, and the lack of positivity just made everything tense.

"Dreamy!" Someone called.

I buried my head into my knees as I heard Cross talk to and comfort Dream, who was sitting a few seats down from me. They started to talk in hushed tones. I wish everyone would stop acting like they knew something bad has already happened. Well.. I guess a lot of bad stuff already has happened.

"How are you holding up?" Geno softly asked from where he sat besides me, lightly nudging me.

"..nOt wElL." I sighed.

"One of the officers told me he called Mom and Fresh."

"I hOpE tHeY gEt HeRe SoOn.."

I heard Geno hum softly, "You're actually doing better than I thought you would be. I can't imaging how stressed and tense you are right now..."

I laughed sadly, getting into a slightly more normal sitting position, "I dOn'T eVeN kNoW wHaT i'M fEeLiNg AnYmOrE. iT's AlL jUsT.. mUdDlEd."

My gaze dropped to the floor as I gripped onto my half of the pendant, "I jUsT wAnT eVeRyThInG tO tUrN oUt OkAy..."

Geno nodded, then glanced at my necklace, "About the ne-"

We jumped as the intercom suddenly fizzed to life, calling for all free medical personnel to come to patient 225's room.

Ink is patient 225.

My soul skipped a beat as I came to this realization. Several nurses and doctors had already made it down the hall before I sprang up from my chair, Geno following me. Sick of waiting for a doctor to come tell us how Ink was doing, I stopped one of the nurses before he got to the room.

"WhAt'S gOiNg On?!" I demanded, rage and fear lacing my voice.

The nurse simply smiled at me sympathetically.

"WhY WOn'T ANyONe TElL US AnYTHiNG?!" I screamed, Geno grabbing my arm and tugging me back.

The nurse disappeared into the room as Geno pulled me into a hug, trying his best to calm me down.

"I hAd To CaRrY hIm ThRoUgH tHe FoReSt As He StRuGgLeD tO bReAtHe aNd NoW tHaT WeRe AcTuaLlY sOmEwHeRe SaFe ThEy WoN't EvEn T-tElL uS a-AnYtHiNg!-" I choked out, my eyes stinging and soul restless.

"I know.. I know..." Geno gently said, letting go of me, "Just take a breath, Error.."

"I jUsT wAnT tO kNoW tHaT iNkY's OkAy.."

My chest ached the way it would before you cry, but no tears fell. I leant against Geno and took another glance at the clock, defeated.

Mom and Fresh finally came. It was a needed comfort and a nice reunion, and it helped me feel a little better, but I still couldn't keep my mind focused off of Ink.

"Cross.. It's been two hours.. I'm scared.." I heard Dream murmur.

That's right, Dream and Blue are here, too. Im not the only one dealing with this. I have to remember that.

The creak of the door made us all pause.

I stood up, hopefully looking at the doctor that stepped out the room. But he wore a grim expression.

no.

"Dream Joku, I need you to come with me." He said gravely.

No.

Dream nodded slowly, tears threatening to spill over the edges of his sockets. Cross whispered one more thing to him before he stood up.

"NO!"

"SIR!"

I pushed past the doctor and stumbled into Ink's room. All eye turned to me, yet no one stopped me as I ran to the hospital bed.
