Chapter 18: Unlocked

[1 Month Later]

  "WOAH! THAT'S SO COOL!!!!!" Ink squealed, his eyes going starry.

  "ThAnKs, BuT iTs ReAlLy NoT tHaT sPeCiAl." Error said, fiddling with the bright blue strings he had just figured out how to summon.

  "You're the only one I know that knows how to do that! Plus, your the first one in our class to unlock their magic!" Ink exclaimed, gingerly grabbing one of the strings, "How is that NOT special?!"

  "I gUeSs." Error shrugged, a light yellow dusting his face.

  "Can you teleport yet?" Ink asked, still closely studying Error's strings.

  "NoT yEt. I tHiNk NiGhTmArE kNoWs HoW tO, tHoUgH." 

  "Oh okay. Well, what can you do with your strings?"

  "UhHhHh.." Error summoned a few more and shot them at a notebook on Ink's open windowsill before pulling them back, bringing the notebook to where he sat on the floor, "I cAn GrAb StUfF wItH tHeM."

  "Woah!! That's so useful!!! How much do you think they can hold before breaking?" Ink excitedly asked, his eyes turning starry a second time.

  "HmMmMm... LeTs SeE."

  "ERROR! WHEN YOU SAID YOU WANTED TO TEST THEM I DIDN'T THINK YOU MEANT LIKE THIS!!!" Ink yelped, dangling by his ankles from his ceiling, "HOW IS IT EVEN ATTACHED TO THE CEILING?!"

  "WeLp, GoOd To KnOw ThEy CaN sUpPoRt A pErSon." Error nonchalantly said, playing cats cradle with a few loose strings as he sat on Ink's bed.

  "LET ME DOWN!!!!"

"nO."

  "Please?"

  "nO."

  Ink struggled around a bit more, very obviously annoyed, "Why?!"

  "nO."

  "ERROR!!!"

  "....nO."

  The said skeleton was able to keep a straight face for only a few seconds before he started laughing loudly, wheezing for breath and flopping onto his back, "tHiS iS hIlArIoUs!!!!"

  "DREAM! BLUE! HELP ME! ERROR TIED ME TO MY CEILING!!!!!!" Ink yelled.

  "sQuId, DrEaM's At HiS jOb AnD bLuE iS aT soCcEr PrAcTicE. nO oNe CaN sAvE yOu."

  "Hmpf." Ink huffed, crossing his arms the best he could while he was upside down, "Fine. I'll just stay up here where you can't get any hugs."

  "oH nOoOoO, nOt ThE hUgS, aNyThInG bUt ThE hUgS." Error dramatically and mockingly exclaimed, "wHy ArE yOu So CrUeL?"

  "UGH! This isn't a joke!! Just- Let me down!! Beside, your supposed to give me my pills and if you don't Dream will murder you and your dead body."

  "oH sHoOt, I nEaRlY fOrGoT," Error said, recovering quite quickly from his laugh-attack and getting up, heading towards the door, "I'lL bE rIgHt BaCk, StAy HeRe."

"It's not like I can GO ANYWHERE."
