"Why don't we resume the talks? It'll take us all day if we indulge you to just sit there and act like you saw the monster from a Netflix movie." Sarah muttered ill-manneredly.
She hoped though that if he actually saw the monster, he'd kill himself and save her the trouble.
If he were a cartoon, added to his already reddening face, he'd have smoke coming out from his ears. That was how angry he was as he yelled. "NO!"
He was seething in anger which was sorely misplaced. His anger is of no consequence to her as he never had the right to be angry at her. It wasn't her who had done him wrong. It wasn't her who made someone's life a living hell. And surely, it wasn't her who was callous and made a bastard decision to ruin someone's life.
Yet, he still dared to show his anger at her?
She snorted, then gave him a ridiculing look. Logically speaking it should've been her who had all the right to be enraged. To show such behaviour in her presence, in her castle and expect to still be still be treated like a guest? What did he take her for? A fucking decoration?
For all that he had done to her in the past, he had still not learned shame.
"I will not have a human in the midst of a peace talk for the vampires and werewolves!" He growled.
"Well, then." Kane said in a breezy manner. "You can go home and tell your Council that I won't agree to this treaty."
Hearing Kane dismiss him, Jeffrey couldn't understand. For a human, the vampire king would disregard the peace between their people. "Y-Your Majesty..."
Kane held up his hand to stop him from saying more. He then continued to say disparagingly. "After all, it's not this King who needs the peace treaty." Kane looked at the messenger that the werewolf council sent with a knowing look.
Sarah could see Jeffrey shudder, a panic look crossing his eyes. Ah, so there really was a reason for the peace treaty. And, the reason appeared to be so... consequential. No wonder even with the millennia-old bad blood between the two species, the werewolves could actually lower their pride first and ask for the peace treaty to be renewed.
Her Beloved knew exactly the severity of the reason so he was using that to pressure the mutt. In her mind, she was laughing and relishing at her Beloved's wickedness.
Jeffrey's face was constantly alternating between white, red, and green. He felt utterly humiliated at what these bastards were doing to him. What's worse is the fact that he can't retaliate and botch up the peace treaty.
He hid his anger and disgust at the human bitch. Before she came, that bloodsucker was almost about to agree to renewing the peace treaty. Then, that bitch had to strut into the room and ruin everything! Other than anger, he also felt confused. How in the world was she still alive?
He knew all the things that happened in the past, and even what happened that day. He knew because he was there. He knew because he was one of the people who sent her to her doom. And he would gladly do it all over again.
She may have been a human, but she was definitely not harmless. That bitch was a harbinger of bad luck who should've been killed when she was born. But no, the stupid Beta couple had to plead her case. In a moment of compassion, the stupid pack housed a monster. And because of her, they were all now...
There were so many thoughts in his head including memories and questions. Like, why was she here in Leguila? He could tell she had already turned into a vampire yet how come there was no report made about that? He needed to return and inform the Council.
