All the Elders stood up in alarm and surrounded her. June, the other female Elder, asked urgently. "What happened?"

"My tam. My tam ith gan. My tam ith gan!" Deena was spouting incomprehensible words and none of the Elders could understand her.

Indifferent, Desmonda rolled her eyes at them. "She's saying her tongue is gone." Then Des raised her hand up stopping one of the Elders from talking. "You don't need to ask me. I didn't do it. Then how do I know? Because I'm not stupid like you."

The two Elders who really didn't know shit looked at the vampires. Why the hell were they all so fierce? QAQ. I wasn't paid enough to endure all this. Fuck, after this, I'm quitting!

Eyes red in rage, the Elders except the two looked at Kane and Sarah with accusatory looks. Sarah shrugged. "I didn't do it."

Then Kane copying Sarah, shrugged his shoulder. "Who asked her to make my Beloved misunderstand me? Do you think you can bear the consequences," if I get sent to the doghouse? "if my Beloved would start hating me because of her words?"

Kane's power was in his words. Whatever he thought of as long as he vocalized them into words would happen. Most vampires had the power of suggestions using words but it was only limited to a certain amount of persuasion. Say, when a vampire goes hunting, they would 'charm' human with words to get them to willingly offer themselves as food.

But that power of suggestions much like hypnosis was weak. Kane's power of words was absolute. Just like a while ago when he thought to take away her tongue used for instigating a rift between him and his Beloved.

Just like Dean, Kane also had a price to pay for using his powers.

Kane once again said. "aufero"

This time, it was her eyes. Another round of screams permeated the room. The thick stench of blood made everyone tense.

The other four Elders were growling in anger. Devon looked stunned. Samantha was shivering in fright. The two clueless Elders thought it was best for them not to become Leguila's enemy so they remained quiet.

"Treat that as my show of sincerity for my agreement in the peace treaty." Kane spoke languidly. It was as if he knew by saying those words, the Elders would not bother him any longer.

And he was right. The Elders knew that because of Sarah, the vampire king Kane would most definitely not sign the peace treaty. However, probably because of the suffering of one of their own, he reconsidered and even gave his agreement.

The Elders who were cunning and selfish all thought that even though this outcome was not the best, it was good enough that they got him to agree to the treaty. They stopped caring for the injured Elder and even showed warm smiles.

Trent stepped forward, his hands rubbing together in delight. "Your Majesty, I am very honoured to hear your generous response."

He snapped his fingers and in an instant, a piece of paper and a pen were on the table in front of Sarah and Kane. The thick paper was slightly glowing due to the magic imbued into it.

"Please, if you will, Your Majesty." Trent who didn't dare to step to close to them, signalled with his hands for Kane and her to sign on the paper.

"Sure." Kane responded easily as if there was no bad blood between them. "I'm signing but I don't know if my Beloved will."

The Elders who kept their smiles wide, looked at Kane not understanding.

"I haven't shown my sincerity for this peace treaty yet, haven't I?" Sarah then muttered.
