-good 'ol pure fluff!-

"are you sure, adora?"

"yeah! I'm sure it can't be that hard, catra. I've done this loads of times..kinda," adora said, looking at a printed recipe for brownies.

catra chuckled, "adora, you've only ever made them from the box."

adora squinted and grinned at her teasingly, "and so have you. I mean, you can't mess up brownies, even if they're not the best," adora assured.

"pFF-riggght," catra teased and nudged her slightly with her elbow.

"I'm serious! you can't go wrong!" adora said while giggling slightly, ruffling catra's hair playfully. "c'mon, this is a team effort! can you get me the eggs?" adora asked, giving catra a quick peck on the cheek as she knelt down to grab bowls and trays from the cupboards.

catra wrapped her tail around adora's arm,

"sure thing."

————

some time went by as they mixed and entered ingredients thoroughly by hand, taking turns as they're hands grew tired.

"okay! I think it's ready..what do you think?" adora asked, her eyes beaming and her voice slightly exhausted. "I think I just got my workout for the day just from that," she giggled along with catra once more.

"I think they look great! surprisingly," catra nudged adora playfully, "we make a good team."

adora giggled, "I think so too." she carefully slid the tray filled with rich, chocolate batter into the preheated oven. "and all we do now is wait," she said as she started the timer.

                                   ————
a couple minutes went by as catra and adora were relaxing in their living room, indulging in each other's presence and cuddling as they watched kitchen nightmares as the chocolate aroma of the brownies baking filled the air.

every now and then they would take turns to check on the warm goodies, placing a toothpick that pierced the batter to check if it was ready, and leaving it if it needed a little extra help.

"hey, adora?" catra slightly yelled over the tv, "I think it's ready!"

"I'm coming!" adora turned off the tv and made her way over to the kitchen, and it smelt absolutely delicious.

"ooooh! I can't wait to dig into these," adora said as she slid on some oven mitts, sliding it carefully out onto the counter.

"does that mean we can eat them now?" catra asked, almost unleashing her inner child she often refrains to show. adora chuckled, "no, not yet catra, unless you wanna be burned," she then moved catra's hand away as she tried to reach for one jokingly as they both laughed. "we'll just wait a bit for them to cool, I'll meet you outside, okay?"

"sounds good," catra grinned. "I'll set it up outside," catra said as she grabbed a patterned cloth and some pillows.

"thank you~" adora pecked catra's cheek as she headed out to the backyard that overlooked a small lake illuminated by etheria's moons.

catra unfolded the cloth, setting it down on the freshly cut grass and placing two pillows next to each other, making a small gap in between. lighting would not be a problem, as the moons light shone throughout the backyard.

————
taking the tray, adora cut the brownies into best squares and took out a small straw basket, making sure to place some red parchment paper at the bottom.

excitedly, she grabbed the basket and made her way out the back door, making the sound of the door swinging open catch catra's attention as adora knelt to sit on a pillow.

"aww, you're just too adora-ble," catra said teasingly as she booped adora's nose. "ha-hey! what is?" adora asked, giggling throughout. catra put an arm around adora's neck, making their heads come together.

"the basket, you dork."

"oh yeah! we should probably eat them now before they get cold," adora reminded.

"already on it!" catra immediately reached eagerly into the basket, picking up a chocolate goodie, as did adora.

"alright, on three."

"one,"

"two,"

"three!" they said in unison as they excitedly tasted their creations, savoring every flavor.

"mmm! we did a goodumf jobf madora!" catra said, slightly muffled as she was eating. "heYy! gross! don't eat with your mouth open, silly!"

"but yeah, we do make a good team, right?"

"abpmsolutely," catra muffled as she stuffed her face once more. "I'm sorry," she gulped down her food, "they're just so good!"

adora laughed, grinning at her dreamily as catra looked back. "hey."

"thanks for this, it was really fun!"

"trust me, we're gonna be doing this a lot more if we get to eat stuff like this!"

"I'm looking forward to it."

sorry this took a bit! I have another chapter hopefully coming tomorrow, as I'll be able to stay up to write it and not be more tired for school. I really love baking though and I thought this would be a good idea :) next chapter will hopefully be a bit longer, but we will see!
