-angst catradora-

-sorry this took so long for an update, I haven't found a ton of time!-

adora turned a small knob, letting the last bits of water flow out from the shower head. she stepped out carefully, wrapping her towel around herself tightly, making sure not to slip on her way out like she had before.

she twirled her hair within her hands, letting all of the excess liquid go drip down into the tub and drain, watching and listening as it did so.

her hair dampened as the leftover small droplets fell, absorbed by the towel around her before they could hit the cold floor.

she winced slightly as she stretched out her back, popping her joints with a satisfying click. her back burned, the pain coming with it easing down slightly as she relaxed herself. she smirked a bit, then giving a small pout.

her back had never really healed properly, scars too deep to have fully mended.

she sighed, making her way to her bedroom, rushing as she hated the feeling of her feet on the cold floors of bright moon. she quickly opened her door, relieved as she shut it behind her.

"hey, adora," a voice uttered. her face flushed, her heart jumping out of unexpectedness.

"that really has to be one of the longest showers you've ever had, nearly an hour?"

adora smirked, giving a quick glance to catra over her shoulder as she opened her dresser for fresh clothes, leaving only her backside facing towards the feline.

"oh c'mon, I haven't been able to savor showers for years. was always ice cold back there," adora chuckled.

"..sometimes, I honestly wouldn't even want to shower at all," adora began to change, setting her towel to dry.

"yeah, trust me, it really didn't help me, either.." catra added, eyeing adoras back and wincing, despite not feeling any pain. at least, not physical.

her mind trailed back to the battle of brightmoon, their fight. she didn't like to think about it, but it always found a way, creeping into her mind despite how hard she tried to forget it, and wanted to forget it.

her mind flashed back.

                                  ————

she looked down at her wrists, a tight rope of vines cuffing them, then looked at adora, the battle undoubtedly left it's mark on her as well, as she scanned her face that was scratched, her many bruises, and the slight reddening coming from her back, staining her shirt.

                                ————

catra stuttered, keeping her gaze on adora. she had finished changing by now, and she took a seat on their bed alongside her, quickly running a comb through her dirty blonde hair.

"do you ever miss them, catra?"

"huh?"

"our squadron. lonnie, kyle, that lizard guy.."

"you mean rogelio?"

"yeah, that's it," adora face palmed, "do you, though..?"

catra shrugged nonchalantly, "I didn't really mind them, lonnie kinda sucked. they didn't really matter as much, if I'm honest. i would only talk to be, ya'know, nice," catra fidgetted, tail in hand. "but id really only want to talk to you."

"aww, yeah, I get that. I dunno, I felt weird. like they were my friends and they were cool! but I dunno. felt like I, we, didn't entirely fit in."
