-fluff..?-

"c'mon catra! I've been planning this for months, there's no way we're backing out now. we've gone too far."

"are you absolutely sure? I mean, what if we get caught? how do we know if this is gonna work, adora.."

"I'm positive. trust me, this is foolproof, but I can't do this if you're not fully committed."

adora took catra's hands into her own carefully, carressing them gently with her thumbs.

"please, catra."

catra glanced down, titling her head slightly as she looked back up with loving eyes.

"adora, you know what we're getting into, right?"

adora nodded, "every outcome."

"and..yet, you still wanna risk it?"

"I think, no, I know that this is worth risking if it means we can get out of here, together. we can't stay, catra.." she looked down sadly, "we both know we can't. me, you, we don't belong here."

"and I know you can feel that same feeling I do too, catra. for so long..I know I have."

catra turned her head away, her tail anxiously wrapping around her own legs. "I know, I do feel it, but..."

"but, what if we get caught? who knows what trouble we'll get into," catra sighed, then scoffed, "who knows what shadow weaver is gonna do to us..to you."

"she'll never forgive us, adora, and she'll make sure we know it. and we'll be lucky not to hear from hordak himself," catra looked to the side, her voice growing quieter.

adora tucked a loose strand of hair behind her ear, letting go of one of catra's hands, leaving them to intertwining their fingers in adora's free one.

adora thought for a moment, "..you're right, but, she never has to know. no one does."

"trust me, catra. it's going to finally be perfect, no more ruthless schedule, no more intense training, it's going to be better than everything here."

"adora...i," catra thought, "I want this as much as you do, I really, really do, but-"

"catra." adora said sternly, yet softly, "do you, trust me?"

"of course I do. with all of my being."

"then with all of your being, trust in us, in this," adora's face brightened, then turned to a look of worry as the sound of multiple footsteps synchronizing hitting the floors grew closer.

she turned to look behind her, shadows of soldiers coming into view in the entrance way.

"we have to hurry, our best times for escaping are soon, as the other cadets are switching. that'll give us time to blend in, and make our way out, eventually."

adora trailed once again, "aaand if this goes according to plan."

catra gulped, growing anxious, "okay. let's do this."

                                    ————

"adora, are you sure we can't take anything?" catra whispered, hiding behind some cots.

"trust me, I wish we could, but we can't leave them suspicious..!" adora whispered back, slightly raising her voice.

"we're literally two horde soldiers who to them, will have suddenly disappeared, I doubt that'll make it more obvious, but alright."
