-a smaller chapter! bittersweet catradora-

-requested by @EdenzRebecca12 -

adora bit the end of her pen, deep in thought as she sat on her bed with a notebook sitting on  her lap.

photos were scattered across her bed.

she began to softly cry, smudging her writing slightly as her tears dropped, but she didn't care, as she continued letting her emotions write themselves on the paper in front of her.

"love, adora."

she sniffled, wiping her tears away with her hand as she stared aimlessly at her work. she took some photos and taped them into the same notebook, handling them carefully. she took her pen once more, writing small notes near the pictures.

sometimes, she'd hesitate, her mind filling up with endless thoughts. she'd start to feel better, but once she wrote something down, she'd cry all over again.

"I miss you, catra"

adora's door creaked open, revealing bow. but, she didn't look up.

"and I will always miss you."

"hey, adora-" bow looked over at the blonde, her eyes tinted red by tears. "sorry to bother but-adora?" in an instant, he cut himself off.

"adora?"

"hi, bow," she trailed off with a shaky voice, trying her best to maintain herself. bow walked over to her as she put closed up her notebook, setting it aside to let him sit next to her.

he eyed the photos scattered on her bed, along with some drawings. his heart broke for her, he had too much empathy for others. he'd known about catra, but adora had never fully went into detail.

she didn't like to, at least it seemed like it.

"hey, I know you miss her. trust me, we've lost a few people in the rebellion, too. like, glimmer's dad."

"that's the thing, though, this is different bow..."

"doesn't mean I still can't feel what you do." he placed a hand on her shoulder, "hey. it's okay to let yourself be sad. it's perfectly normal, and it doesn't make you weak, if anything, it makes you stronger."

adora covered her eyes with the palms of her hands, then running her hand through her hair poof. her expression quickly changed, as if her heart breaking was put on display, "I'm sorry, I miss her, so, so, so, so much, bow," her voice cracked with pain, as she breathlessly spoke with her closing throat.

her heart sank at endless memories that flashed in the mind, taunting her.

she made her hand into a fist, clenching it shakily, then opened her hand up, looking down at it.

"who am i?" adora blinked away quickly forming tears, "I'm not even adora."

"I'm just, some..person with a destiny I didn't know i had. sometimes I don't even want it anymore! I wish I could go back, bow, I should've never been chosen,"

she thought for a moment, her mouth giving a quick frown, "I don't even know what I'm doing.."

"but, I don't get a choice! I don't get a do-over..!" she hit her bed, her emotions indecisive whether to shift from anger or sadness.

they stared for a moment in silence.

"who am I? you can't tell me I wouldn't even be here, if it wasn't for me being she-ra. what good would I have been..if I had nothing to offer for this place? to the rebellion?"
