-angst, takes place where the episode whiteout was in, but not during-
-blood warning-
a heroic roar echoed throughout the skies, distorted every slightly, with a hint of agony. the clouds complimenting the sky were dark, heaving with an abundance of rain.
catra's heavy breathing could be seen, fading with the air around her, as the ground shook by the gold and white clothed warrior's booming voice.
"adora," she barely dodged the blue tinted sword as it swung straight for her, "please!" her voice cracking, especially distorted.
she was exhausted, but the red eyed heroine persisted, saying nothing. her hair was soaked, damp.
isn't she tired by now?
"a..adora, please," catra stood there, holding her slightly glitching black arm as it bled slightly as the sword of protection grazed it a while earlier. she was at least glad it didn't end up being worse than it could've been.
she sighed, preparing herself with what strength she had left, readying her claws in a defensive stance.
"you've asked for this,"
adora squinted at her angrily with her stinging red eyes, burning through catra's with only a small glare.
catra lunged at her, scratching adora's face with deep cuts leaving their mark. but adora firmly gripped her arm catra used to wound her, leaving her with no reaction time, then pulling her towards her body, then finally throwing catra against the railing with a powerful thud.
the sword of protection fell onto the ground of the bridge. but adora's infection remained.
catra looked behind her, angling her head downwards; a looming death as they stood several feet up in the air. there was no where else to go.
the slippery railing only grinded her back bones as she was trying to regain her balance.
she-ra barreled towards her, as catra winced as she had pinned both of her shoulders in place, locking and trapping the feline.
oddly, catra almost enjoyed it.
almost.
she looked at up at the infected woman in front of her, her body slightly bulging with red veins as they trailed and scattered throughout her arms. catra grunted, the cold railing stinging her back.
"save your pleas."
"just listen to me, adora."
"listen? funny. I've told you the exact same thing, to open your eyes, to see what's happening, but yet, you only cared about what? yourself."
"a bit of a hypocrite, aren't you, kitty?" the infected she-ra grabbed her chin, tilting her own head and she examined, for the most part, the unphased cat who only let out a sharp intake of breath.
she pushed catra further, slightly pushing her own body, but furthering catra's pain.
"adora, you're not yourself. give me a chance."
adora laughed, "a chance? I've given you so, so many opportunities. I'm not myself? neither are you. you've changed, yet you can't handle when I do?"
the heroine laughed softly through sadness, "don't I," she placed a hand on her own chest, "..get to be angry?"
the infected adora gave a small look of grief, "dont I get, no, don't I deserve to mourn? after all you've done?"
catra's heart dropped. "I-"
