Zachariah stepped closer to Aurora. She backed away, eventually her back hitting the wall. He walked to her until he was just a few feet away. His eye stared deep into hers, Aurora's breathing slowing as her heart raced.

"You realize Damian will stop at nothing until he has you, Aurora. As long as you live, you will always be in danger. Before any vampire knew about your breed of existence,  we all lived in peace. Yeah, there were small wars, but all the conflict is nothing compared to what just one teenage girl can make one do."

"So, you feel as though you're doing me a favor? Are you just wanting to hand me over to Damian because you feel it's best this way? Zachariah, I don't know what your mother planted in your mind, but I know you would never hurt me. You know as well as I do that we had some kind of bond when we first met."

Suddenly, Zachariah moved closer to her before she realized it. His face was only a few inches from hers. She stood there motionless, just staring into his beautiful eyes. Zachariah parted his lips to say something, but he closed them and didn't speak. Aurora was disappointed because she just wanted to hear Zachariah's voice, and how his accent would roll off his tongue.

Zachariah moved his lips to Aurora's cheek and gently kissed her. Aurora held her breath, not knowing what was exactly going on.

Then, Zachariah whispered, "I will give you a five second headstart to run."

Aurora pushed him back lightly and asked, "What do you mean?"

"Four... three..."

Aurora then realized what was happening. She ran for the door with what speed she had, leaving the house almost instantly. Zachariah was counting down in order to catch her, but was giving her a head start because he knew he was faster. She had no hope in out running him, but she had to try.

She ran through all the trees, the houses fading in the distance behind her. Her mind was going through so many questions, and her heart felt broken. She trusted him, and he ripped it away.

Suddenly, Aurora tripped over a rock that was hidden. She fell to the ground, a small gasp escaping her. She laid on the ground, listening to all of her surroundings. She could only hear the wind going around her, the trees blowing along with it.

She turned around on her back, looking up at the sky. Clouds were forming over the forest, the sun nowhere in sight. She wanted to get up and run, but she couldn't find the strength.

Suddenly, Zachariah appeared in front of her. He stood a few feet away, Aurora still not getting up.

He walked over to her and grabbed her arm. He pulled her up in a standing position, making Aurora stand on her feet.

"So, I guess you're going to just hand me over to Damian? I trusted you with everything Zachariah, and this is how it ends? Then again, like father, like son, right?"

Zachariah pushed Aurora against a tree, his face close to hers. Rain droplets started to fall around them. He held her there tight, not letting her go. She could sense the anger that ran through him, and she knew she had caused it.

Suddenly, Zachariah's eyes turned into the blood red she had only witnessed that first day they locked eyes on each other. Aurora then could tell that his eyes reflected his feelings, especially when it came to his anger.

"Aurora," he said, his eyes looking straight into hers. Her heart started to beat slower, Aurora looking back at Zachariah. "You know I would never be like my father."

"Then why are you doing this, Zachariah? Why can't you just let me go?"

At that moment, his eyes turned back to the blue that she loved. He was no longer angry, but what exactly was he feeling?
