Aurora's eyes fluttered at the exposure of the sun. She slowly opened them to reveal she was lying on the ground, surrounded in colorful flowers.
She rose up quickly, getting a much better field of the flowers. She was in a field that went on for miles. Mountains sat in the distance, and the flowers were arranged in such a beautiful manner.
She slowly stood up and embraced the clear skies and the beauty of nature. This place was unfamiliar to Aurora. In fact, how did she even get here?
Slowly, Aurora started walking in a direction. She had no idea where she was going, but she couldn't just stand there.
After walking for a few minutes, a small figure came into her view. It looked to be a little girl, maybe 7 or 8, but no older than 10.
Aurora ran to her, the flowers pushing aside as she made a path. More details were coming into her view as she got closer to the little girl. She had a pink dress on, her brown hair was blowing along with the wind. She had her back to Aurora so she couldn't make out any identity.
She slowed her pace, cautiously approaching the little girl. Aurora stopped at a fair distance, giving a good amount of space between them. She stared at the girl, hoping she would turn around.
"You have grown up so much, Aurora," the girl said, her voice being so sweet and so familiar. Aurora had heard that voice before, but she wasn't for sure where.
"It's been too long, friend, but I am glad to see you grown. You made it through the slaughter of The Forgotten Forest."
The little girl turned around and Aurora's heart dropped. Her pink dress was more familiar, her beautiful face, and her cute little fangs were showing through her smile.
"Elizabeth..."
Elizabeth's smile grew even more. She ran at Aurora with full vampire speed, her arms grasping around Aurora's waist. She stood in shock and also in excitement. It was really Elizabeth.
Aurora slowly pulled her arms around Elizabeth, embracing her in a hug. She had to be dreaming because there was no way this was reality.
Elizabeth pulled herself up off of Aurora. Her long, straight hair was dancing in the wind as she looked up at Aurora's face.
"I know this all seems confusing, especially because my body hasn't aged, but I can assure you the words I'm about to speak are as true as it can be. Aurora, I'm able to speak to you through your dreams. I have tried for so long, and have never been able to do so. Now that I'm here and able to speak, there are some things you really need to know."
With a wave of her hand, the flowers cleared and a beautiful lake came into view. The water glistened as the sun's reflection danced in the waves.
Aurora crookedly smiled and turned to Elizabeth. "How did you even do that?"
"This is all just a dream, Aurora. I can change anything at the wave of my hand."
She motioned for Aurora to follow, leading her to a bench that sat along the water's edge. Aurora took a seat, Elizabeth sitting down beside her.
"Aurora, I want to start off by saying how proud I am of you. Ever since I was killed, I have watched over you like a guardian angel. You have accomplished so much in the time over the years."
She took a deep breath and stared into the lake.
"Let's talk about Zachariah: no matter what happens, you need to trust him. His father may be the evilest vampire known, but Zachariah doesn't come from that. In his past, he made some awful mistakes, but he truly feels regret in his heart."
