Aurora walked into her English classroom. As usual, there were kids in a small section of the room laughing amongst themselves, but who knew exactly what they were laughing about.
Aurora took her seat at the back of the classroom. She opened up her notebook and pulled out the piece of paper that she wrote her "mythical" creature on.
She looked up to see Zachariah walking into the classroom with a confused look. He turned his attention to her and a slight smile formed on his lips.
He walked to her, Aurora not keeping her eyes off of his crystal blue ones. "Hey, I am sorry to interrupt you but I'm really confused as to where my science class is."
Aurora softly giggled and reached her hand out to him. "Let me see your schedule."
She still could not get over the fact that Zachariah was there with Katie, and how he possibly had something to do with that gash on her arm, but until she figured it out, as long as Zachariah acted normal, she would as well.
Zachariah handed her the schedule and Aurora examined all through it.
"'Vampires are creatures of the night that burn to ash if stepped out into the sun. They can send signals through dreams if needed, and there are even vampire myths about a half-blooded walking amongst the Earth that contains great power. This half-blooded is part vampire, part human, and is a great ordeal to the vampire world. They are hard to find considering they blend in with humans quite well.' That is very detailed Aurora. Where did you learn about this?"
Aurora pulled back her story and looked over it to try to avoid the question, but she knew she couldn't.
"I read it in a mythology book." Aurora did exaggerate about having the powerful powers, but only to get a kick out of herself.
"I am sorry I asked. I guess I should have asked before reading it."
"No, it's fine. Anyways, your classroom is just a little down the hall and to the left. It's room 319. It shouldn't be hard to find after you get farther down."
Zachariah smiled at her and said a small thanks before leaving. As he was exiting, Grace was entering through the door, watching Zachariah as he headed down the hall. She turned her attention to Aurora and walked to her.
"Why was he in here? Did you try anything Aurora?"
"Grace calm down. He just asked me to help him get to his science class."
"He is a mysterious boy. I would love to find out more about him."
Grace gave a wink to Aurora and took her seat in front of her. Aurora rolled her eyes at Grace's comment. She was out of her mind if she really thought that Zachariah would actually let her in. He probably only interacted with Aurora a lot, and she didn't even know too much.
Aurora looked down at her paper and reread it over. She thought it sounded well, and creative, but was it too creative for human ears?
Aurora looked up in time to see Lucas walking into the classroom. Aurora's breaths seemed to stop as she watched him walk to a front desk and sit down, not once glancing at Aurora.
Grace turned around at Aurora and asked, "What's wrong with him? He usually sits with us. Did something happen over the break that day you, he, and his sister went to the park?"
"I would rather not talk about it."
Grace stared at her for a blank moment, but she let the conversation go and turned back to the front of the class.
Aurora cupped her arms on her desk and laid her head down. What was she going to do to even be able to talk to Lucas ever again? Simply walking to him and trying to start a conversation was not going to work.
