Dear Connor Murphy, thank you for being a part of my book. *le sigh*

Reader~Chan's PoV:

Being the new girl at a new high school was scary. Being the deaf new girl was terrifying. That was me, Y/n L/n. The deaf loser without friends or a solid school. I'm sixteen and haven't been able to hear since I was six. I was able to learn sign language and how to read lips but it is all worth nothing if I can't talk to people. Most people don't approach me at school because I don't really talk at school, all of the teachers tend to let me be because they know and all my classmates think that I just don't like to talk. I had made a deal with my mom, I would try to make this new school my "home" or I would be able to switch to home-schooling.

So there I was at the front entrance of the high school definitely dreading the week to come. Thankfully I didn't have to worry about going to the office because my mom asked to have my information emailed to her after last time when I was deemed a "problem child" when I wrote down my answers to the questions at the last school. Anyways, I quickly found my first period and took a seat in the far back corner of the room. Before I knew it a flood of students entered the classroom and took their seats. A tall, long haired boy came back to the two-seated table I was sitting at.

"Excuse me, this is my seat." The boy said-although I couldn't hear him I knew exactly what he said.

Sorry but I'm new and didn't know anyone sat here. I'll move. I wrote and moved to stand.

"No, don't go. You're interesting new girl." He pulled me back into the chair before speaking again, "I'm Connor by the way."

Y/n I wrote simply.

So What's your deal, Y/n? The boy wrote leaving me to assume that class had started.

What?

I mean why do write instead of talk?

Can I trust you?

Yeah sure. Nobody would believe me anyways.

I'm I paused in my writing- was I really going to tell this Connor piece my deepest secret? deaf.

Woah really? I thought you were like a beautiful singer who just needed to rest her voice or something!

The other kids in the room paired up before leaving the classroom.

Hey wanna be partners?

Sure

Okay what's your number?

Alright cya!

Three days passed and it was Friday. Things with Connor were really good-he'd even been learning sign language for me! But even with one good aspect of the school-well multiple, Connor helped me not feel lonely, he helped me with my classes and sort of "fitting in"-there was still a whole lot of bad. For example, the most popular guy in school was "pining" after me. Just like usual, I was waiting by my locker for Connor.

"Hey Babe. You. Me. The movies tomorrow?" Richard asked me, leaning us both against the lockers. Even without hearing him I could tell he sounded like a creep.

There was a moment where Richard was silent, his expression growing angry however before removing himself from overtop of me.

"Why should I?" Richard's lips read. Connor appeared behind him and forced Richard off of me the rest of the way. The two argued for a while before Connor punched him in the nose and then turned towards me. Connor used the sign language he'd learn to say, "It's a good thing you can't hear this creep. Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." My hands were still shaking slightly from before.

Richard got up holding his nose making it difficult to read his lips but I could tell he was angry.

"It's called sign language. God, you're so shallow that you can't even tell when somebody can't hear you." Connor was still facing me, and he spoke before he realized his mistake. I took off down the hallway feeling betrayed with tears gathering in my eyes. He was probably calling after me but I couldn't hear it. I ran into the nearest empty classroom after I assumed I had run far enough away. I slumped into a corner, tears streaming down my face and hiccupped sobs escaping my throat, shaking my b/t body.

Before I knew it, there were lengthy arms wrapping me in a warm hug-one that I had become accustomed to throughout the week. After what seemed like an eternity Connor pulled away and lifted my chin up so I could see his terrified face. My attention moved to his lips as they began to move.

"I am so sorry Y/n. I didn't mean to he just made me so angry that I couldn't think about what I was saying...I know that you'll probably be leaving soon but please, please stay! I love you and I don't know what I'd do if-" I cut him off by pressing my lips to his.

Connor's PoV:

I was cutting off by her soft, warm and slightly salty lips. I finally responded to the kiss by closing my eyes and kissing back until she slowly pulled away. I opened my eyes and I perked up when she began to sign.

"I love you too. I want to stay"

Well then!

I hope you enjoyed!
