Reader~Chan's PoV:
Steven had come to me and my daughter's house on that slightly stormy afternoon to introduce me to someone. I had no idea that that day I was going to meet someone who would love me so much and love my baby D/n as much as I do.
Now this afternoon the house was filled with silence until Steven knocked. It was D/n's naptime and I was reading a book on Baby Development and Psychology. So Steven's sudden knock which was hyper and rapid when compared to the extremely tranquil of a few moments prior. I quickly rose from my seat and opened the door to find Steven and a much taller, much prettier person behind him.
This must be who he wanted me to meet.
"Y/n! Hi! How are you?!" Steven half-yelled, pure excitement lacing his voice.
"G-good. But Steven remember to keep it down. D/n's sleeping right no-" A quiet, muffled cry interrupted my sentence. I silently sighed before waving the pair inside and moving to the bedroom,"Hey D/n/n...hey, hey it's okay! Momma's here! See, there's that beautiful smile!"
"Lapis, this is Y/n and wittle D/n!"Steven began introductions very cheerful once I re-entered the living area.
"Hello. I'd shake your hand but umm...my hands are a little full."
"It's quite alright." Lapis spoke softly and despite that, upon hearing her soft and soothing voice, my breath hitched. It seemed that D/n also liked her voice, as she opened her eyes, looked over at Lapis and cooed happily at her.
"Would you like to hold her?"
"Sure." We shared a simple smile and I could tell that today was the beginning of something beautiful.
*About 10 months later*
"My Sweet Baby Blue~" A soft singing lulled me out of my sleep on that clear night. I rose, smiling slightly at the empty place next to me and bed, and followed the voice to D/n's bedroom. Peering slightly into the room I saw Lapis' figure gently rocking D/n back to sleep. As she began leaving the room I stepped back into the hall.
"Y/n! I'm sorry I thought you might want a bit of a break."
"Thank you. I love you Lapis."
"I love you too."
