Healing(Cheater!Lapis X Male!Reader X Pearl)[SU Human AU Request]

Reader~Chan's PoV:

I don't understand what I did to deserve this. Was I not enough for her? Is that why she kissed another guy? Because I'm not good enough? 

The last two days I've been sitting in my room miserable because of what she did. My girlfriend-well ex-girlfriend now-invited me to dinner and when I showed up, she was there with another guy and they were engaged in locking lips. 

I haven't had many people come by my apartment. Just Pearl, one of my best friends. I still hadn't told her what happened exactly, just that we weren't dating anymore but I have a feeling she knows exactly what happened. Pearl always made a point of coming to make sure I was out of bed at around 10 am and she came by to help me make dinner last night. It was really nice of her to do so, but I wish she didn't. I wish I could just wallow in my own despair for a while. But around her, I felt like I had to be happy, be nice. 

Although yesterday, when she came over a strange sensation overtook me. When I saw her, it was like my whole world stopped for just a moment. My heart beat increased ever so slightly and my palms grew sweaty for whatever reason. I wish I knew exactly what was going on. 

I woke up to my apartment's buzzer going off and I groaned slightly before rising from my comfortable bed before answering the door. 

"Who is it?"I grumbled, still groggy from my sleep. 

"It's Pearl!"Her cheerful voice replied gently through the speaker. 

I simply pushed the button to let her come up before unlocking my front door and then retreated to my kitchen to start a pot of coffee. 

"Good morning! I brought some bagels from the place down the street!" 

"Morning Pearl. You didn't have to but uh, thanks." I drawled slightly awkward, pouring myself a cup of coffee. 

"I wanted to Y/n. You don't have to thank me, knowing you are awake and healthy is reward in and of itself." Pearl stated and my face got warm as I realized what she said. After a long while of silence, I finally asked what I'd been curious about for a while. 

"Pearl, why do you care? I haven't even told you what happened yet but you still come over constantly and take care of me when all I want to is mope. So, why? Why do you care for me the way you do?" 

"Y/n, I have been taking care of you because I want to help you heal. We've been best friends for a long time, and you helped me heal when I lost Rose, both figuratively and literally. It's only right that I help you too. Besides, I love you to much to watch you drown in your pain, especially over her, she didn't deserve you and she's not worth your tears. So, I want you to heal and find someone worth your time, and I don't care if that's me but I do care that you know that I'm here, always. No matter what transpires between us." 

So that's how I feel about Pearl...I love her. I guess I was so blinded by what I thought was love that I had never realized it before. But I suppose the real question was whether or not I was ready. Ready to move on, ready to love Pearl the way she deserves. 

"I-i l-love-e you t-too P-pearl-l..." 

I hope you enjoyed! I'm so sorry it took so long for me to get out! Not only am I super stressed out, but I have a ton of requests that I'm working on and I have writers block so that's fun. 

Also, just an FYI, I'm going to be changing my username soon, don't worry the username is the only change, I won't change anything else lol.
