Chapter 23 - The Sports Festival Ends

"DIE LOSER!" an explosion left his hand and dark shadow blocked it. This matchup honestly couldn't have been worse. When Fumi and I were talking in the trees before the tournament he told me how dark shadow would become weaker in bright light.

Katsuki wouldn't even give him a chance to fight back, he just kept on sending explosions in dark shadow's face. He then leaped over Fumikage and went in for a huge explosion behind him that dark shadow couldn't defend in time. "STUN GRENADE!"

There was smoke everywhere and nobody could see a thing. When it eventually cleared, it revealed Katsuki pinning down Fumikage with a constant explosion in his right hand producing light and his other hand over his beak.

He leaned in closer and spoke to the bird boy. "It was a pretty bad matchup for you, almost feel bad. But you're done." I then saw him lean in and whisper something to Fumi. His eyes widened and then closed in defeat.

"I surrender."

"Tokoyami gives up! Bakugo's the winner of this match!" announced Midnight. Katsuki climbed off of ma little bird friend but was still glaring at him angrily until he was distracted.

"That means our final fight will be between Todoroki and Bakugo!"

I found Katsuki after he stormed out of a room mumbling something like 'damn that icyhot.' I approached him once more and tugged his sleeve.

"Hey, please can you just talk to me?" I said a little bit annoyed at this point. He turned around to see me but just faced away with a 'tch'. "Look, if something is wrong with you, can't you trust me? I'm your girlfriend for god's sake!" He then ripped his sleeve away from my grasp.

"Funny thing, trust. Thought you had the most in me." After that he just walked off and left me standing there confused and more angry than hurt this time.

"Now, begin!" The match began with a huge wall of ice that completely encased Katsuki. My heartbeat quickened. Is he okay? My breathing got quicker and I thought I was going to pass out. It didn't matter if I was mad at him, I just wanted him to be okay.

Then faint explosions could then be heard from inside of the ice, then it started to crack at the front.

Suddenly, he burst through it! He used his explosions to tunnel through the ice! Putting his hands behind him, he was able to launch himself towards Shoto. The candy cane boy went in to use his ice but Katsuki Dodged mid air, grabbed him and tried to chuck him out of bounds.

Shoto responded to his attack by creating a 'wave of ice', as Present Mic said, to avoid going out of bounds. Shoto latched onto his right arm with his left hand but hesitated on using his fire quirk on Katsuki and ended up just tossing him to the side.

They both stumbled to get up and Katsuki looked more annoyed than I've ever seen him.

"You bastard! I'll tell you what'll happen if you make a fool out of me!" Katsuki began monologuing. "I'll kill you! I don't want there to be any doubt that I'm the best student at the festival! Thats only possible if you come at me as hard as you can!" He sounded more irritated with every passing second. "There's no point if you don't fight me with the same power you used against Deku! If you don't wanna win this, why are you even here?!"

He began to charge at Shoto. "SHOW EVERYONE YOU'RE TRYING TO DESTROY ME!" He carried on charging but Shoto but he just stood still, frost beginning to cover his right side. He began to lower his left arm as a sign of defeat but the greenette beside me had different ideas.
