Siddharth woke us up at 8 the next morning.
"You look better." I told Kabir as I went to get coffee in the kitchen.
"First full night sleep in ages." He said stretching.
"We don't have all day." Siddharth yelled.
"Hail Hitler." Misha said yawning and I giggled.
We all dragged our feet to the tea table where Siddharth now had a map spread out.
"What do we have to do?" Kabir asked flopping onto the chair.
"You have to steal something for us." Siddharth said and pulled out the sketch of three identical knifes. "They are hidden in plain sight which makes them easy to spot but very difficult to steal."
"Where?" I asked.
"The main hall of the council, it is guarded by two vampires disguised as tourists all the time."
"Tourists?"
"The council had to be disguised so they picked an old mansion and converted it into a weapon musium, the entire house is for display, except the conference room on the second floor."
"And how are we supposed to steal this?"
"Since they aren't expecting us, this one will ve easiest, i had a friend check the schedule, they have a meeting today meaning all three french elders will be present there, meaning the gaurds will be curious and will be listening to the conversation and not paying attention. You three go in with cameras and all, I will spill a blood bag outside, you open the case, put it in your bags and get the fuck out of there."
"That's it?" I asked and he nodded.
"Told you they underestimate human technology, they won't after today, this is more of "showing our hand" than a theft."
"Are we ready to show our hand?" I asked and he nodded.
We aren't. Maithali's voice said and I said it out loud, they looked at me.
"If they don't know we exist yet, we need to keep up pretences a while longer." I said and again they looked at me.
"Pia we are ready." Siddharth assured. "People will get restless if they have to hide any longer, the vampires in paris are ready to protest."
"They can wait a while longer." I said firmly, "I want to get a few nore knifes before we show our hand."
He stayed silent for a minute.
"I'll make some calls."
"Vampires have protests?" Misha asked and kabir shrugged.
Siddharth was locked in his room for a good half an hour, he looked happy when he came out.
"It's done." He said. "The network is ready to wait if we can hold a world wide protest in four years."
"Four years?" Kabir asked.
"Time moves differently for us douchebag." Siddharth said. "Four years is two days for some and two months for others."
"What are you protesting?"
Siddharth started filling them in.
"Not four years." I cut in a moment later. "If time moves differently for vampires they can stay alert for decades, we need to steal them all before they realise they are gone."
They all stared.
"That isn't possible pia." Siddharth said.
"How?" Kabir asked instead.
