Peter

Peter helped Mr Stark to his feet as they heard thunder (or what Peter assumed was thunder) rumbling overhead. Mantis looked around, a scared look on her face. "Something's happening," She said, and then suddenly, she was gone. Her body seemed to disintegrate right out from under Quill's hold on her.

Peter took a step backwards in shock. What the hell was going on?

Next was Drax. "Quill?" His voice was soft as he too vanished into nothing.

Mr Stark looked at Quill. "Steady, Quill," He said in an attempt to keep him calm.

"Oh, man." Quill whispered as he disappeared into the wind.

Peter's eyes widened in shock and terror at this. What was happening? Why was everyone disappearing? Oh, God... Thanos had said that with the snap of his fingers, half of all life could cease to exist. This is what he meant.

"Tony." Doctor Strange's voice was so gentle compared to when Peter had first met him. The way he said Mr Stark's first name and regarded him as a friend... "There was no other way."

Then Doctor Strange was gone, too.

Peter knew he was next when a weird feeling began to crawl in his lower body. He gasped and looked to his mentor. "Mr Stark?" He asked, his voice sounding small and foreign, even to his own ears. "I don't feel so good."

And it was then Peter saw true terror in Mr Stark's eyes. He had never seen it like this before. He must have looked so scared to Mr Stark, but Mr Stark looked really scared to Peter, too.

"You're all right." Mr Stark told him. Peter wanted to believe him so badly. Mr Stark was always right, he was never wrong. He would never lie to Peter.

But as Peter stumbled towards the man he had come to see as a father in the past few months, he couldn't believe him. He knew what was happening. He just didn't understand why it was happening so slowly. The others had been gone in an instant. Why wasn't he already gone too?

"I don't... I don't know what's happening." Peter was scared beyond belief. "I don't know..." He suddenly slipped and fell forward, wrapping his arms around Mr Stark like he was a lifeline. He just needed to feel grounded. Mr Stark could help him. His eyes began to water and his voice shook with every word. "I don't wanna go... I don't wanna go, sir. Please."

Even as he begged, he knew Tony couldn't do anything to save him. But he was Iron Man, right? Couldn't Iron Man do anything?

He felt his legs vanish from beneath him. With no legs to support him, Peter fell to the ground in a heap, taking Mr Stark with him. His mentor stated down at him, he looked dangerously close to tears by Peter's standards.

And as Peter realized what was happening to him, and that Mr Stark couldn't fix it, he thought about everything he was leaving behind. His Aunt. Ned. MJ and Kai. Alexandra.

He had promised her that he would come home. That he would be safe. That they would see each other again. How was that turning out for him now? Peter imagined Aunt May's laugh. He thought about he and Ned's Lego Star Destroyer that they had yet to complete. He thought about Alexandra's smile, the one that made him forget everything that was happening around him.

Peter remembered what Mr Stark had said to him on that roof all those months ago... "And if you die? I feel like that's on me."

But it wasn't Mr Stark's fault. He needed to know that. Peter looked up at his mentor with teary eyes. "I'm sorry," He whispered.

Then, just like that, Peter Parker was gone and Tony was alone.
