Bailly's mom was so drained of energy, that she fell fast asleep with dried tears down her face.
I was now sitting in the middle of the room, curled up in a ball rocking myself back and forth.
Tears lined my face, as I just watched them lay there motionless. No sign of life in them, but the slow beeps from the machine between their beds. Also the slight rise of her chest for what seemed like hours.
"I saw them last night dancing together. Why is she here? How did he get here?"
I was banging on the floor wanting information, but they didn't tell me due to not being related. All they said is they got in an accident caused by intoxication.
I let out another sob loudly, then the real shock set in. My best friend, the other half of me was laying there unconscious.
"From drunk driving!, but Bailly is responsible when she drinks. She always uses a designated driver"
"If Jeremy McCain was the designated driver, it was a bad idea because they both had high amounts of alcohol in their system"
I just cried more than before.
"Miss Black the surgery is about to commence, and we need to take them to the surgery rooms for Anastasia"
Looking between my two friends being driven out of the room on their bed, I realized how life is.
It doesn't care how important someone is to you, it just takes.
A pair of arms wrapped around my shoulders cradling me. I turned and faced him, unable to hold his gaze I buried my face in the crook of his neck. And for what felt like the millionth time today, I let the waters flow.
"It's ok Charma, they will be fine. If I know Jeremy well enough I know he is a fighter".
I looked at him confused.
"How do you know Jeremy that well, I thought you and him hated each other".
"Well..." he started rubbing the back of his neck. "Jeremy is my cousin, we just dislike each other for stupid reasons"
"What! He is your cousin and you didn't tell me" I yelled at him.
"He didn't want me to tell you yet for some reason, that I don't know"
"Whatever, I'll ask him when-" I remembered the situation he was in. "... umm just whatever" I let out another tear.
"Don't worry, and as for Bailly the times I see her in school, she is always speaking her mind. And backs it up with action, so of course she is a fighter. She will get through this."
"I hope so, but Jace what about me. Will I be ok, my best friends are going through hell right now. I wasn't even there for Bailly, I have barely talked to Bailly in the last month." I started rambling out of guilt. "We were supposed to be in everything together just Bailly and I. She is the Almighty Bailly and I am the Boss Charma"
'It's gonna be ok"
"Ya, but what about Jeremy. He became one of my best friends, even though he is a bad influence. He was the crazy one that I love, he was the spark. The one that told me to push the limits, even though I was scared. He took me to the party, he dealt with my crazy mother. He laughed with me when my mother said use protection. He was my boy best friend. I can't lose him Jace, I can't lose them, I need them."
I was bawling my eyes out now, while he just craddle me. His face showed no emotion, like he was thinking, but his eyes were stone cold. I wish I knew how he felt, like to be in his shoes.
