"I love you, Clem."
"I love you, too, Vi. So much. Hey, maybe we could-"
The dream cluttering Clem's unconscious mind quickly dissipated as she awakened to Violet's lips. She didn't question it; she just melted into it. Tasting her girlfriend's soft lips and feeling Vi's hands brushing through her own hair sent her into her own euphoria.
Clementine whimpered at the contact, making Violet only want more. Violet, who was now on top of Clem, pulled away and stared into her girlfriend's hazelnut eyes. She brushed away the few strands of hair covering her girlfriend's complexion, taking in all of her prominent features. "And good morning to you, too," Clementine joked.
"Heh, I couldn't resist. You're just so beautiful; it drives me crazy," Violet claimed, gently caressing her girlfriend's blushed cheek.
"You know, I was having a dream about you before you kissed me."
"Oh yeah? What was I doing?"
"Let's just say more than what we're doing now," the brunette seductively teased.
Violet smiled and planted a kissed on Clem's forehead. "Well as much as I would love for that dream to become a reality, we have to get up now," Vi stated, pulling herself off of the brunette.
Clementine refused to listen and grasped Violet's wrist, pulling her back down on top of her. "Do you really want to get up?" the brunette asked in a mischievous tone.
"No, but you know we have to." She kissed Clem's dainty nose, and this time successfully pulled herself off of her girl. "C'mon, I'm sure breakfast is ready."
"Let me get dressed and then I'll meet you out there."
Violet smiled and quickly tidied up. Clementine watched as the blonde walked out the door, exhilarated at the fact that she was with Violet again and things were back to normal.
The brunette sighed contently. She was home again with the girl she loved - safe, happy and loved. Take away an apocalypse and life couldn't be more perfect. She got out of bed, threw on her hat, and headed out to meet up with the rest of the kids.
Clementine approached her family eating at their usual table. They were all laughing and smiling; it was nice to see it all again in the dark, cruel world that took over.
Her eyes immediately met with Violet's as she wandered over, a warm smile following after. Willy and Violet were the only two that knew of Clem's return.
Ruby was about to fill her mouth with a big spoonful of rabbit stew, but that came to a halt when her eyes landed on the figure walking over. She gasped and dropped the spoon in her stew. "Oh my god," she muttered under her breath. She got up and quickly ran to Clementine, almost knocking her off her feet. "Oh thank heavens! I'm so happy you're back, Clem!"
The rest of the kids were in shock, too. "I'm so sorry I left. I can explain-"
"You don't have to, Clem. We get it. Shit happens. We're just happy you made it back in one piece," Louis stated as he threw his arm around the brunette, guiding her to the table.
"It's good to have you back, Clem," Aasim remarked with a benevolent grin.
"It's good to be back. I'm just happy you guys don't hate me. I missed you all so much."
"Hate you? Clementine? Have you met you?" Louis joked. He turned his head toward Violet, surprised to see her still in her seat. "Um, Violet, this is Clementine, you know, your girlfriend who left and is now back? The one you-" he stopped talking, watching as the two girls smiled in content at each other. "Never mind. I take it you were already aware."
