Olivia took a deep breath.

She was so so nervous. Standing in that car park by herself terrified her a lot, especially since she couldn't really see anyone standing around her. She found peace in the fact that there were still cars moving in and out of the parking lot. She could spot security too, standing at visible corners in their uniform. One was directly behind her. She had to make sure she was safe, she had to make sure they were both safe.

Talking about "they", Olivia checked her wrist watch again. What was taking her so long anyway?

She looked a bit worried, taking quick scans around. Narrowing her gaze as she saw a round woman hurry towards the garage, her hands joined together, looking side by side like she was terrified of something. It was her. Ann. She was there. Olivia let out a relief sigh as she watched the woman get closer, her face brightening up the moment she noticed Olivia standing right in front of the black BMW car.

"Ann," Olivia stretched out her hands so the older woman could reach for them and hold them. "I was beginning to think you had changed your mind and bailed on me."

The lady squeezed Olivia's hands and smiled.

"Of course not." She whispered. "I don't have much time anyway, my niece might notice I had left the house." She pouted.

Olivia frowned a little bit. Did she come alone? She looked around quickly and then turned back to the woman. Why? And why was she whispering?

Olivia exhaled.

"We have to keep our voices down. They might be watching us."

"They?" Olivia's eyebrows creased. "Who are they?" She had a lot of questions. She had a bazillion things she wanted to know but she didn't even know where to start. Olivia lowered her gaze to the woman. "What about my mum? My parents? You said you knew them the other day. You called my mother by her name, you wouldn't have known who I was if you didn't know her."

The woman nodded.

"Of course I know your mother." She kept whispering, nodding uncontrollably. "We used to work together. We were partners."

"Work together?"

"Yes." The woman continued, glaring at Olivia with her dim eyes. "At Rand. We were friends."

"R-Rand?" Olivia stammered. She didn't understand. That was a part of her memory she couldn't remember. A memory that was not there. "You mean Rand oil?"

"Yes, we were accountants. Oh, the good old days." She placed her hand on Olivia's and then tapped them gently.

"You look so much like her. If only she was alive to see how much you've grown. She would have been so so proud."

Tears welled up in Olivia's eyes, she could feel a sudden piercing pain in her heart.

"Your mother was so kind to me. She loved to write too. Do you love to write?"

Olivia scoffed silently as tears fell from her eyes. She nodded quickly, a tiny chuckle forcing itself from her mouth.

"Oh, blood is indeed thicker than water."

"What happened to my mother? What happened to my parents? Why were they leaving that night? Was someone after them? Was someone trying to get them killed?"

A large frown appeared on the woman's face as she slowly turned around like she was trying to make sure no one was watching. She looked so scared. So nervous. Olivia could see it. The lady slowly turned to her, tightening her grip on her hand.

"You must find it."

Olivia blinked once. Find what?

"The white kangaroo. Your mother trusted it with the truth."

Olivia exhaled. Now was really not the right time for this lady to go insane on her.

"You have to find it. It's the only way you can know the truth, prove the truth. Your mother knew it. She knew the truth and they killed her for it. They killed her so she didn't tell anyone. She wasn't even a threat to them. She just wanted to take you and leave. She resigned. She stopped communicating with everyone. They just wanted to leave. They didn't want to get in anyone's way. They didn't want any trouble." The woman pulled on hard to Olivia's hands.

Olivia's heart was racing as she could feel the woman's sharp fingers piercing through her skin. She was hurting her. She rose her eyes to the woman's who had her eyes wide open, glaring at her as tears welled up in her eyes.

"Ann." Olivia tried to pull her hand away from the woman as she noticed how the woman was already beginning to shake. "Ms Ann." The woman didn't let her hand go. She kept pulling it as tight as she could.

"You can't trust them. They are murderers. They are liars, all of them. He is going to get you killed. He is everywhere. He sees everything. He's watching me, he's been watching me for so long but I acted like I didn't know, like I had no idea but I did. I did because she told me....because she trusted me with the information. You must go, you must save yourself. He sees you. He sees all of us."

"Ann." Olivia tried so hard to set herself free but the woman kept clinging on to her hand, muttering the same words over and over again.

The security behind her could see just how uncomfortable she was beginning to get. He rushed to them, trying to stop Ann from becoming too violent.

"You must save yourself. You must expose them. Find the kangaroo."

The security man pushed Ann away from Olivia as fast as he could as Olivia rubbed her wrist to subdue the pain.

"Miss Olivia." He told her. "Are you okay?"

Olivia swallowed hard and then nodded her head. She was fine. She slowly turned to Ann who just stood there glaring at her. She exhaled and then took a step to the terrified woman to console her right before they heard a tiny piercing sound. Olivia halted as she felt a thick liquid splatter on her face.

At that moment, everything became static. She could hear her heart beat increase with every second that passed. Everywhere felt so quiet, she could smell it. She could smell the blood on her face as she slowly turned her gaze to the drops of blood on her hands. Glaring at them in shock.

No.

She rose her head, saying a short prayer in her head as she turned to the chubby woman in front of her who just stood still, her eyes glaring at Olivia's with a hole on her forehead. She was shot.

"No," Olivia rushed to her as fast as she could, everything playing in slow motion as the lady was slowly finding her way to the ground. "No, no, no, no."

Olivia grabbed on to her just as the both of them fell to the ground with the security rushing to them.

"Ann," Olivia tapped the woman on her face in an attempt to keep her awake. The security man looked around to see where the bullet came from but he couldn't see anything. "Ann, Ann please stay with me." Olivia kept shaking her so she didn't close her eyes.

"Get help." She turned to the security man who nodded and then took off as fast as he could. Olivia could feel her tears seizing, they weren't falling anymore from all that shock. Her hands were trembling. She could barely think straight. Her shirt was beginning to be drenched in blood.

"Please, you can't die on me." Olivia told Ann, shaking her gently. "Please."

Ann's body was becoming cold slowly. Olivia could feel a cold wind pass through her spine. Ann shut her eyes.

She was dead.
