Olivia could feel her muscles tense as she watched Randy smile at the waitress that took away his empty shrimp plate. She swallowed hard as her heart took multiple beats. She was barely even looking anywhere else. She just had her eyes glued to the stern man in front of her. There were a lot going through her mind. A lot of questions like;

Why was she there? What did he want from her this time?

Since the last time Olivia had to sit and talk with Randy, she wished she never had to again. The man in front of her terrified her so much. She could literally feel her hands and legs tremble while she tried to calm herself in her head.

It was just to talk. It was probably not anything serious.

She wished she could convince herself but she just couldn't. She swallowed hard again, rubbing her fingers against each other as she stole a quick glance at the man standing right behind Randy and then three others outside the restaurant.

They were surrounded. She was surrounded and it scared her even the more. She was beginning to feel so suffocated. Olivia must have guessed her breathing was really loud. It was always that way when she was terrified. Could he hear it? Could he see how scared she was? It looked like he could with the way he looked at her, forcing a wry smile on his face.

Was he still upset she told Rafael about their last meeting? Was that why he had called for her out of the blues? Was he going to hurt her?

Get a grip of yourself Olivia.

She really needed to breathe. To take a deep breath.

Olivia shut her eyes for a second and then took a breather. A deep one. She puffed her cheeks and then exhaled.

"You've barely touched your food."

Her heart almost jumped the moment she heard Randy's voice. She opened her eyes quickly and then turned to the plate of salad right in front of her. He was right. She had barely even touched her food. The food she didn't order for. She swallowed hard and then forced a nervous smile on her lips.

"I ate a lot at home." She rose her shaky voice, trying so hard to avoid any form of face or eye contact with him. Her eyes weren't even resting at a place at that point. She was too scared to look in one place. "I'm not really hungry."

She always rose her voice unintentionally whenever she was scared. And she was really really scared. She tried so hard not to make it so obvious. She chuckled nervously just as she watched the smile on Randy's face spread even more. It was just like the first time she had seen him. The first time she had fooled herself into believing  that the man in front of her wasn't as scary as she perceived him to be at that moment.

"You don't have to be scared." He told her. "I'm not here to scold you or hurt you."

Like that was supposed to make her feel better.

"I just wanted to check on you."

To check on her?

"I'm fine." She rested her eyes on him, smiling nervously. "Never been better."

She blinked her eyes twice. God she was almost peeing on herself. She thought she could hold it in, she thought she could control the way she felt but her fear for this man had a hold on her. She was barely even thinking straight. She needed to leave. She needed a reason to leave.

"I still want to believe that you're going to honor our last deal from our last conversation and do the needful." Olivia glared at him. "The offer still stands as usual and if you'd want an increase or to better it, then I can always make out time to listen."
