Pluto

God, I don't know how it started.. Dylan could tell you if I'm being honest.

We obviously aren't like normal relationships. We met at one of his Comic Con panels a couple years back and I was helping out some friends. I was still in school at the time so I was barely thinking about boys and whatever.

But Dyl and I just ran into each other and- this is gonna be cliché as HELL- it was for sure love at first sight.

I looked my worst while I was in college and I still have no idea how he found me even the slightest bit pretty. He says I would've been beautiful at any point he met me.

But, that's not the point of the story.

I was studying with a group of friends and then Dylan texted and said he was outside, so I let him in my house and he helped us with some of our work [even though he didn't go to college].

So I introduced him as my boyfriend since we'd been dating for a year or two now.

He whispered it just only so I could hear but my brain didn't register it fast enough and I completely ignored it:

"I love you Y/N"

"PLUTOS NOT A FUCKING PLANET ANYMORE??", I screamed at my friend.

I whipped my head around and Dylan was pissing himself laughing. I smiled and started laughing too.

He was only able to get a small string of words out and the couple that were coherent were "I love Pluto"

And of course I said I love you back.

-So, fast forward a couple months and we're laying in bed after some bomb sex. He looks over at me with his Sleepy Dylan Eyes and goes "Pluto".

I could remember the moment instantly and I said it right back.

And that's why we don't say "I love you", we say "Pluto"

Everyone thinks it's weird or they make fun of us. But it's something sentimental too us I guess, and it makes sense in our world.
