(pretend this is a covid-free world :))

Knowing Dylan O'Brien was a big deal, but house sitting for him was an even bigger one.

I needed the money, so I put an ad out for any job, not specifically house sitting, lo and behold, Dylan O-freaking-Brien reaches out to me and asked me to house sit. Me.

Of course I said yes but I had to control myself and not freak him out, because thatd be really rude. So I gathered some of my things, because I knew that I'd be there for a while.

I set out on the drive and played my favorite music to get the nerves off. Finally, the GPS said that I was there so I put my car in park, turned it off and slipped my phone in my back pocket.

I headed up to the door but before I got the chance to knock, the man himself came to the door.

"Can I help you?", his eyebrows furrowed.

"Oh yes! I'm Y/N, you reached out to me about house sitting?", I smiled politely at him.

His eyebrows slightly un-furrowed and he smiled back, "Oh uh, come, come in", he ushered me inside.

I didn't think the house would be huge because, you know, subtlety. My mind changed when I stepped in, it was very modern but also stretched out.

He started showing me to the rooms, first his (the master of course), then he showed me to mine and it was very neatly decorated and I really liked it.

"Normally when you house sit for someone you'd sleep in their room but I thought you'd be more comfortable in your own space, and also I'm a paranoid freak but we already knew that", Dylan started laughing at his own commentary

Then I started laughing too, "Very understandable, if I had a following I would too."

Finally he showed me the backyard, which had a pool and some nice plants scattered around.

"Okay wait, I hope this isn't weird but like, you are a very good decorator"

"Oh no I didn't decorate, my mom did and I just decided to leave everything like it is"

We both started laughing again.

"Okay, Y/N, are there any questions you have? Even if they seem rude it's totally fine..." Dylan sat next to me on the couch.

"Is there any possible chance I could have friends over? It won't be many but like maybe one or two?"

"Oh my god yes, I don't want you to be like, completely alone. It's a big house so you need company, trust me"

I nodded, "I won't tell them whose house this is either, even if you tell me that it's fine, I won't because if I do I will lose my mind".

Dylan chuckled and nodded, "Okay cool"

I smiled, then my phone started ringing.

I pulled it out my pocket and walked away from Dylan.

"Dude! I told you not to call me right now!"

"I know but this is really important. Okay! So we have. a problem"

"Okay? What kind of problem?"

"A problem like we're understaffed and we need our manager/owner"

"Chris I really can't right now... Fine. I'm on my way, give me like 20 minutes"

I quickly hung up the phone and took a deep breath.

"Okay look, this is kind of a long story but I really have to go. I have this... job and it's understaffed and they need help."
