Val woke up.
"Hey wake up," announced Brian, pointing at a portal similar to the one they entered in, "I don't see how you could fall asleep in this situation, but we're finally here."
The crew entered the portal, finding themselves inside Law's library.
The library was grand and huge. There were thousands of books, ranging from big lengthy ones to short novels. Almost all of them were in different languages that Val couldn't read. There were also podiums on the ground, with artifacts inside them. The artifacts were questionable in what they were, but were probably of high value.
Val then heard something weird from another podium. It was like the artifact was calling to her. Inside the podium's glass was a white sphere. It looked like a little orb or ball. The odd thing about it was that the podium was labeled, so she didn't know what it was called.
Break me.. Destroy me.. End my life..
Val jumped back. Did the sphere just talk to her?
End my life..
It did! How was this happening? Did the sphere want to be broken or something?
"Hey, Val!" yelled Brian, "Don't stare at the artifacts too long. Law is a weirdo when he collects these things, completely oblivious to what they could do. Some of them might be dangerous. Don't be tempted to take them."
Kaleb stared at the white orb that Val was looking at.
"I've actually heard rumors of this sphere," said Kaleb, "They come from a different Alpha universe. If you break them, you get to wish for something, like a genie."
Everything hit her. She finally remembered: Law's office, the fight with Law, Jak's death. Was this white sphere in front of her the orb that Styx was talking about?
"Val," said Styx as time resumed once again, "I'm going to replay the day, but I'll be transferring my memories to you. Look for the white orb! That will possibly be our only chance at defeating Law!—"
"Val," asked Kaleb, "Are you alright?"
"Let's not forget what we came here for!" announced Brian.
Val went up to the white orb, even holding it in her hand.
Break me.. Destroy me..
"Val!" yelled Kaleb, "What are you doing!?"
Val threw the white orb on the ground, shattering it into pieces. She had destroyed the orb, unknown of what was to come. Val then slowly grew unconscious as her friends yelled for her name.
What do you desire the most?
"I want.." thought Val weakly, "..to stop Law, protect my friends, and help turn everything back to normal.."
Very well. You shall get your wish for destroying the Ma..
Val couldn't hear the rest of what the orb was telling her. Brian woke her up.
"What did you do that for?" said Brian, "This is going to be harder to negotiate with Law now!"
Styx gave a puzzled expression, almost as if she knew what Val was doing.
—
A grayish steam appeared from the holes of the door as it opened. Jazz teleported back to where the crew was as they stared in awe of the office. Compared to the giant door, upon walking inside, the office was small, but large enough to fit all of the crew. Not much was in the office except for two potted plants in the corners and a painting. There were also two bookshelves facing each other back to back.
In front of the crew was a standard desk with an office chair. The chair was empty, but there seemed to be paperwork on the table, lighted by a headlamp. The crew inspected the office, trying to find Law.
Val took a peek at the papers on the desk, aware that it was an invasion of privacy. Suddenly, the paper had vanished, turned into black smoke in front of Val's eyes.
"I'm sure you didn't understand a single word on that document," said a dark low voice, "Let's keep it that way."
...
Law smacked Brian's face, quickly launching him to the ground. Jazz instinctively teleported to him, trying to check for any injuries.
"Now you dare to question my power?" announced Law, "You're all still as ungrateful as ever, even when I gave you all your abilities."
Suddenly, Val was in between Jazz and Brian. It's like she teleported! Val put her hand on Brian's injury, speeding up his healing process. Law didn't seem to notice since his attention was on Jak.
"You have abilities?" asked Jazz and Brian, shocked.
"Styx foresaw the future for a short time," explained Val, "Telling me the abilities I was able to do. I think it came from the orb that I broke. I plan on finding out more about my abilities and using them to defeat Law."
"I thought we were just trying to negotiate," said Brian.
"It's too late for negotiations."
Suddenly, they saw Jak falling down in front of Law.
"I've touched you with my nails," said Law, "By doing so, I paralyzed your entire body."
Jak got up angrily, molding the feet of Law to the ground and turning his fists into heated steel. He punched at Law, but he was no longer there. Then, Val teleported in between Jak and Law dropping a small flower on the ground.
"How reckless of you," replied Law as he touched Jak with his hand.
...
Nothing happened to Jak. Val couldn't believe it at first, but she knew that the flower had saved Jak.
"The flower prevented you from dying Jak!" said Val, "Wear it so you don't die—"
Val was kicked back by Law, putting her out of range of the flower's safety.
"You.." said Law, "A measly human with god-like abilities? Impossible. You're just a nuisance in my attempt of balance and perfection!"
Law was suddenly behind Val, and had touched the veins of her neck!
"Val! No!" yelled Jazz.
Styx had stopped time to prevent it, but Law still moved freely within the stopped time. It was over.
...
"This can't be happening!" yelled Law, "My Blood Burst had no effect!?"
Law was punched hard in the face, knocking him down to the ground.
"So you're going to fight me with this new god-like ability, huh?" laughed Law, as his mouth began to bleed, "Then you'll definitely get a knack for this! I manipulate Authority!"
The crew were stunned in what Law was doing. He was self replicating himself, creating two more copies! Now, Law planned to kill them all. Jazz teleported Neos behind Law, easily exploding him into multiple pieces. However, the clones of Law didn't disappear.
"You thought destroying the original would kill us all?" laughed Law, creating another clone, "We share a network of memories. The more clones, the better."
Neos was vulnerable. Law had meshed his legs into the ground, preventing him from moving. Law rushed towards Neos but Val teleported in between them, touching Law with her hand. Suddenly, Law transformed into a tiny frog. Neos took advantage of the opportunity and exploded the frog with a touch.
Val's new abilities seemed to revolve around nature. Whatever she was doing, she had planned to protect her friends. Law forced himself to create four clones, overextending his power.
Six Law clones were ready to fight the gods of Silver Leaf.
"Do you think we could beat him?" asked Brian.
"We could at least try," replied Val.
