Doron beat his massive wings against the air as he dove from the cliffs edge, making fast to catch up with Magar and May. May tilted her wings upwards, catching the wind and slowing her, allowing Doron and I to catch up. Jamie and James both had looks of cheer and joy on their faces as May beat her wings against the air along side her father, before folding them in and dove towards the water below-with Magar close  behind.

"Get after them!" I shouted happily as the sea spray coated May with a wave.

Doron folded in his wings and made for the ocean below, spreading them to catch the wind only seconds before he would have otherwise hit the water. Giving a powerful flap, he pulled along side Magar. Bailey and I gave each other each a friendly nod. I then looked back out ahead of me. May was skimming her wings along the waters surface playfully, each flap throwing water into the air with the force of her muscular wings.

"May!" I shouted.

To my surprise, she panned her head around to look at me, before chirping and pitching up towards the clouds-quickly ascending away from Magar and Doron. Doron eagerly pitched up after her, Magar following close behind. The wind whipped through my hair and across my skin as Doron flew through the clouds, the sound of his wings beating drowned out by the sound of the wind. The sight of clouds swirling as the dragons enormous wings pushed them aside with each flap was intriguing, though quickly thwarted by the dragon emerging above the clouds, with a second layer of clouds high above us, with columns of clouds on either side as the sun lit the sky like a great torch. For a moment, the sky was silent, with the exception of Magar also ascending through the clouds and falling into glide beside Doron. As the two dragons gazed around the skies, searching for their last surviving offspring, there was nothing. Then, suddenly, May shot between the two of them with a loud screech as she pulled out in front of her parents. James and Jamie were both laughing and waving their tied hands at me as they passed me by, both of them seemingly in awe of the experience.

Magar roared as she took off after May, though Doron couldn't quite keep up, as he was notably larger, and therefore a fair bit slower than his mate and offspring. The two smaller dragons didn't leave Doron behind though. They would circle around him in order to allow him to keep pace as the three of them rolled and banked and looped through the clouds, vocalizing back and forth with each other. Though I could not understand what they were saying to each other, it was clear that the three of them were having a highly intellectual conversation with each other as they flew through the cloudy skies. For the first time in a long time, I felt nothing but joy and calm. No conflict, no war, no death, no suffering, just three dragons and the beautiful sky, open for us all to fly through, unimpeded. If we stayed up there forever, we wouldn't be bothered by anyone. It wasn't as if any of our enemies had the ability to fly. But, we could not remain in the sky for ever. We had sworn to defend those who fought for us, and to turn and flee for home before the wars end would be an incredible disrespect to those who had died, and who would die for our cause. For the moment however, any worry we carried with us was, for the moment, gone.
