3 Days Later

"No no, bring the bow up and pull the arrow back, line your eye up with the side of the arrow and look at your target. Breath easy and slowly, then let the arrow fly." I said in Jamie's ear.

My bow looked comically large next to her, and I kept my hands held out in front of me, ready to grab it from her in the event that she pointed it at someone unintentionally. James watched eagerly waiting for his turn, and Jamie was more than reluctant to give up the bow.

"Mommy! I want try arrow!" He shouted as he stumbled forward, reaching out for the bow.

Of course, Jamie wasn't able to pull the arrow back anywhere near enough for it to deal a lethal blow, but I took no chances as I swiped it from her hands. She cried and screamed as she shouted out a young child's version of cuss words as she reached out for the bow.

"No! No more. You two don't need to be playing around with this, I don't know why I even let you have it in the first place." I said with a chuckle as I handed the bow to one of my servants.

Just then, Magar appeared from below the cliffs, shooting up towards the clouds before leveling out and circling around us overhead, joined shortly there after by May as she too appeared from below the cliffs. The two dragons circled around several times before setting down next to each other. May nudged at Magar's throat tenderly as Bailey dismounted and jogged up to me, hugging me when we met.

"It's nice up there today. You should come for a ride." Bailey said.

I looked up at the partially clouded sky just as a cloud move under the sun-briefly casting heavy shade over the ground.

"Perhaps later, I've got a headache." I said with a grin as I watched Doron circle around over the ocean out in the distance.

"Oh come on! It gets lonely up there sometimes. Come fly with me! You can even let your kids ride May!" Bailey said.

I scoffed jokingly at this idea, but my children seemed intrigued by the idea.

"We want ride the dwagon!" Jamie exclaimed as she started laughing, falling over as she clambered over to me.

I knelt down.

"You really want to ride her?" I asked.

"Jess, we can tie their hands to her spines to keep them from falling off if it makes you feel better." Bailey said as she motioned for one of our servants to go and bring some rope.

"You really want to go for a ride?" I asked, now seriously considering the idea.

They both nodded repeatedly just as the servant returned with several feet of ropes, and handed them to me.

"Don't be afraid Jess. May's a careful flyer." Bailey said as she took James and Jamie by their hands and guided them over to May as she came forward.

May nuzzled the two of them, making them both laugh. It was admittedly an odd sight to see two little children laughing as natures most aggressive and capable predators sat only a few feet away.

"Come on you two, up." Bailey said as she helped James and Jamie onto May's back.

She briefly climbed up with them, tying their hands to each others, then tying the ropes to several of May's spines before giving the whole rig a firm tug to ensure its stability. She stumbled as she stepped down from May's back as the red dragon shuffled towards the cliffs edge.

"They're alright. They're not going anywhere unless she wants them to, which she wont." Bailey said before patting me on the shoulder, just as Doron set down behind me-shaking the ground below my feet.

Bailey smiled at me, before turning and running towards Magar, swiftly mounting her. I hurriedly ran and mounted Doron, just as Magar leaped off the cliffs edge diving towards the sea below. For a moment, May looked up at Doron, as my children looked up at me. Then, just like her mother, May spread her wings and took off over the cliffs edge with my children tied to her back.
