"Honey? You took long enough-" Mrs Kim looks up from the cash register and is surprised by her husband bringing in a familiar girl and toddler.
"Wha- what's going on?" she notices the bruise on the girl's face and immediately worries, she walks around the counter and rushes over to her and touches her face softly.
"What happened?! Who did this to you?!" Mrs Kim was so enraged she forgot the girl in front of her couldn't understand a word she said was saying, her husband who was holding the child in his arms places a hand on his wife's shoulder to calm. "Please calm down sweetie...they're both hungry and he needs to do his homework" he places the little boy on the floor, and Angel looks around and he looks back at his mom.
"Mommy Teayong will find us here, we have to hide"
The parents heard the child and look at Alani, "Teayong?... you mean our Taehyung?" Alani nods, "Why-why you hiding from our Taehyung?" his mother asked, her tone filled with so much worry and concern it almost made Alani choke up. "It's not like that ma'am I promise..a situation happened and...I'd rather not talk about it" Mr Kim was given the same excuse earlier and her explanation just didn't right with him, he looks at his wife with sad eyes. "We should close up the shop early and start dinner soon."
"Well...okay." Mrs Kim comes from behind the counter and began locking the front door of the restaurant. "You all go up and start preparing for dinner."
the way Mr Kim found Angel and Alani, was when he noticed Angel stranded outside his school. He was dropping off a delivery to a couple of the teachers, he knew he wouldn't have been able to bring angel with him so he just decided on waiting with angel instead. Eventually his mother showed up, she was huffing and puffing as if she had ran a mile.
"I'm so sorry angel, I didn't have enough for an Uber so mommy had to walk here. Are you okay?" She ran and hugged her son.
"Yes mommy, remember this is Teayong's daddy." he points to the man behind them, Alani slowly looks up and notices him.
"Oh hello?"
Mr Kim had to double take her, she looked beaten down.
"Your face..." he points out, Alani nods, "Uh yeah I'm fine." she lied,even if she did tell them she knew they probably wouldn't have believed their nephew did this to her. "You need cold for your face, come." he beckoned the two, "No sir we wouldn't want to be a bother." She shook her hands.
"No you come, you need cold for your eye" he meant she needed to ice her eye down or it wouldn't get better, but he got his point across.
"You need food too, come"
"We're really not-" just as Alani spoke her stomach spilled the beans, she hadn't eaten all day. Mr Kim looked at her with a cocked eyebrow, he just shook his head and beckons the two to follow him.
