Time for Ice Cream

"Marinette, you won't make it," Tikki says.

"Yes, I will," Marinette says rushing down the stairs to grab the macaroons that her dad baked for her friends.

Marinette rushes across Paris to meet up with her friends for ice cream.

"Marinette," Alya says waving her down.

"Did Adrien come this time?" Marinette asks.

Alya looks down.

"You don't have to say it," Marinette says as she sighs in a saddened tone.

"Don't worry, he will come one day," Alya says to her best friend.

"You're right," Marinette smiles.

"Hey Marinette," Nino says as he and the group walk up to them.

"Hey everyone, so where is Andre today?" She asks.

"By the Eiffel Tower," Alya says as she looks at her phone.

"Well then, let's go," Ivan says.

They all walk to the Eiffel Tower where Andre the Ice Cream Man is singing, rhyming, and passing out ice cream to couples.

"Hi Andre," Marinette says as she walks up to the cart.

"Marinette, how are you my dear?" Andre responds.

"Good, do you have something for me today?" She asks.

"Still looking for that special someone?" He asks.

"Yep, and I'm not giving up," Marinette says.

"Peach pink like his lips and green mint for his eyes," Andre scoops some ice cream out and places it on a cone, "Some day your love will materialize," he finishes the rhyme as he hands the ice cream to Marinette.

"Thanks Andre," Marinette puts her cone up.

"You're welcome Sweet Marinette," Andre responds.

"He seems to always give you the same thing and he is never wrong," Nino says as Marinette sits next to him and Alya.

"But who do we know that has green eyes and peach lips," Alya says obliviously in order to keep the crush a secret.

"Oh, I almost forgot," Marinette says taking the big box of macaroons out of her bag.

"Are those the famous Dupain-Cheng
macaroons?" Ivan asks.

"Yep," Marinette confirms handing them out.

"I love your family's macaroons," Mylene says.

"Thanks," Marinette takes the complement as she finishes handing out the cookies.

"So, are you going to the Valentine's Day dance?" Ivan asks.

"I don't know, I mean I don't have anyone to go with," Marinette says.

"Sometimes the best people to go with are your friends, boys can be overrated," Alix says.

"You're right Alix," Marinette stands up and turns to her friends.

Her friends smile knowing that what she says next is going to be positive.

"You guys might have dates but just because I don't doesn't mean I shouldn't go. I can have fun with you guys."

"There you go, M," Ivan says encouraging his friend.

Marinette looks at her phone, "I gotta get going, I have to babysit Manon."

"See you later Marinette," Alya says.
