"Am I supposed to apologize?"
Are the words I need to memorize
Because there's going to be a dayTo where I'll look at you and say
Those five words, which mean a lot
Much more than anything you ever bought
Because I know that you groomed me
But that doesn't mean I have to be
This shell of a girl, so scared of her past
Because really, what you did didn't last
Sure, it hurts when I see you
But I know that you can't see through
The smile on my face that I constantly wear
And don't think for a second I don't see your stare
You wonder why, why I'm like this
It seems to you that something's amiss
But of course you don't say it, you act like it's nothing
And we just move on, no more fighting or cussing
It's just a memory, faint and blurry
I'm glad I only see you when snowflakes flurry
Because I loved you, man, I loved you hard
More than the annual birthday card
That you'd send to me, with money inside
I hope that my feelings soon will subside
Because it still hurts, like an open wound
But it won't be long until you're in a tomb
A tomb of regret, sadness, despairAnd you will be judged by the man in the chair
Who watches us all from his place aboveSending down his undying love
Karma is already getting you now
And you don't see it? I don't know how
But the point is, I'm finally done crying
I'm finally done hoping, and I'm done denying
Because I've realized what you've chosen to be
And honestly, I won't let that affect me
