Here I am, yet here you're not
The entire world has been distraught
From the loss of a mother, woman, child
Everything honestly just seemed so wild
The night you left was just so bad
It made the entire Earth sad
It cried and wept, screamed and mourned
And then sent out a massive storm
The storm raged on for a few years
And in those years we all shed tears
Because nothing could compare to the love of a mother
We were left alone with only our love for each other
But one day, the storm went away
And the sun shone on a brand new day
No more sadness, no more pain
There had been beauty brought from the rain
Things have changed, but that's alright
I'm sure you'd like them, day or night
Sometimes I wonder, pray, and hope
That you don't think I'm just some dope
Who's in this world just to cause pain
That I'm saying things for my own gain
But deep down, I know I'm telling truth
Even if it may cause others to go aloof
So I know that when you look down
On your face there will never be a frown
For you will only smile and say,
"Look at my beautiful children today!"
So no longer will I be sad or cry
At the fact I had to say goodbye
For I know you're watching from above
And you're sending everyone your love
(Fun fact: I made this for my deceased mother on her birthday, which was three days ago. Hope she likes it. RIP, Maranda)
