Will The Moon Ever Hear The Stars?

Chapter 15

   Avery walked in to find her daughter smiling like an idiot in her room as she was staring at something on her phone.

   "Someone looks happy," she commented.

   She sat beside Aelin on the bed and watched as Aelin's cheeks turned pink in embarrassment.

   "How was your girl's night?"

   "It was wonderful and awesome. No, it was fabulous. No ugh gosh! it was everything good. That girl ugh!!! She wore my clothes-"

   "She did?"

   "Yesss. We played dress up and we took many photos and then she walked out on me standing only in bra and she had on my clothes mum. She looked so beautiful gosh!! Oh oh and we almost kissed or maybe it's just me who wanted to kiss her. We were literally so close to each other. I thought I was gonna kiss her. Twice!!!.... She hugged me too!! Asterin hugged me. Gosh mum, this girl is making my knees weak and giving me a whole damn zoo in my stomach." Aelin gushed.

   "Aelin. Aelin. calm down honey and now show me those pictures," Avery said and chuckled.

   Aelin nodded and started to show her mum all the pictures they took.

     Meanwhile, Asterin was at home talking to her brother. 

   "What are you thinking about?" Alex signed.

   "About yesterday."

   "Oh, how was your girl's night?"

   "It was lovely. Aelin is a great company I had so much fun but....." She trailed off in thoughts.

   "But?"

   "So there was this time when I suddenly turned she was standing so close to me, I felt intimidated. I don't know why but I almost wanted to kiss her. I haven't felt like this before. It's weird."

   "Maybe because she looks like Aiden. I mean they look similar and you'd probably wanted to kiss her because of Aiden."

   "Yeah, I guess that's it."

   "Now stop thinking too much about that and tell me what y'all did."

    And she did. She filled in her brother with all the activities they did. From playing dress-up to Learning to skate to learning some new words like Dale (C'mon), Bih (A person place and thing), Acere(Pal), Chanks(flip-flops) and so on. She kept the scar part for the last because she knew she'd tear up if she brought it out and eventually she did.

    "I feel so bad, Alex. I don't even know if she told me what happened. I couldn't even comfort her. I have no clue what to say but the scar looked really bad. I'm sure it's something big. I want to be there for her but I can't hear a word she is saying and that sucks Alex. I wish I could hear. I wish I could comfort her. It's really hard trying to be normal. I feel useless."

    "Then don't be normal. So what if you can't hear. I'm sure Aiden and Aelin will love you anyways. Ivan does. So will they. You need to tell them the truth so you can be yourself around them. If you wanna be there for her tell her the truth and everything will be fine."

   "But I'm scared Alex."

   "Asterin everyone is not Calumn. There are people who will love you for you. You need to let go of the past. I really wish I was there with you now."

   "Me too."

   She quickly grabbed her teddy and hugged it.

   "It will get better once the truth is out. I promise." She nodded and said,  "Okay."
