"I lost my hearing when I was sixteen. I was in the car with my grandfather, when he lost his balance and we crashed into another car."
Asterin bent her head and closed her eyes as she bit her lips. The scene flashed right in front of her eyes. Asterin could see her sixteen-year-old self giggling in the car.
"Pops that's not even funny," she whined and laughed.
"Then why are you laughing," her grandfather asked.
"I don't know."
"I can't wait to see the look on your mother's face when she sees that you have gotten a tattoo."
"But it's only temporary for like six months. Not permanent. "
"She doesn't know that. Let's not tell her at and see how she reacts. She'll be like Asterin Coretta Moon how dare you get a tattoo under my roof," her grandfather said imitating her mother.
Both of them burst into laughter just thinking of what might possibly happen. They didn't notice the speeding car coming towards them until it was only an inch away.
"Pops car!!!" Asterin screamed but it was too late.
By the time her grandfather could turn the wheel the car rammed into them. Asterin couldn't remember much after that since everything happened so fast. All she remembered was her head bashing against the glass and then there was a high pitched sound until everything went blank.
"I went mute for nearly a year. I couldn't bear the fact that my grandfather died. I blamed myself for it. Eventually, I found out I could talk and things got a little better until Calumn messed up."
Aelin gently grabbed her cheeks and lifted her head.
"You are not responsible for the accident Asterin, and you don't have to cover your flaws. Ugh! Who am I kidding! You are flawless Asterin. You are such a beautiful perfect angel. Life just got too jealous and did this to you but you know what? it only makes you more beautiful. It's these little things that makes you special. As for Calumn he's a sore loser who lost you. You deserve so much better than that douche bag. Don't ever blame yourself for any of that."
"Okay."
There is a moment of silence as they both stare into each other's eyes.
"Gosh, you have no idea how badly I've wanted to kiss you ever since I'd laid my eyes on you," She said making Asterin blush.
"Well then what are you waiting for?" Asterin whispered.
"What?" Aelin couldn't believe it. First, she lets me take her out now she lets me kiss her? After all I did? She thought.
"Am I dreaming? Did you just actually say yes."
"You have three minutes Mister."
Aelin nodded and leaned forward. She ran her fingers in Asterin's hair and rested her head on hers. Their nose brushed as they stared into each other's eyes.
"I love the color of your eyes," Aelin comments.
"I love the way your eyes sparkle, " Asterin says making Aelin chuckle.
"You sure you wanna do this?" Asterin nodded.
They closed their eyes and Aelin gently planted her lips on Asterin's. Asterin started kissing back and the whole world stopped. It was just them. Asterin wrapped her arms around Aelin's neck as she smiled in between the kiss. None of them wanted to pull away. They were lost in each other's lips once again. But eventually, they pulled away when they couldn't breathe anymore and the butterflies got overwhelming. Asterin and Aelin started to blush and bent their heads. Asterin's cheeks was burning. She couldn't contain the feeling inside of her. It was amazing. Never has she ever thought she would feel this great kissing a girl.
