I walked through the front door of our home after taking Hulk for a walk. I kicked off my Jordans and unclipped the leash from Hulks collar and he ran into the kitchen for what I'm guessing is food as I gave him water in the travel bowl I took on walks with us.I hung up the dogs leash and put away the portable water dish, treats and poop bags in the draw we kept them in that was in the hallway. Hearing my baby laugh and Ali giggle I walked into living room.
Standing at the doorway I watched the two enjoy each others company and play together.
I loved seeing them together and how they interacted with one another it was something that was special and that made me feel proud, to call them my family.
Our daughter was eight months now. Eight months had flown by and I wanted them to slow down. It was going by too quickly I wanted her to stay our little baby forever, but I knew growing up was apart of life.
I also had to leave later today for the race in Austin Texas. I loved racing in Texas the track was one of my favourites and I'd won a few races there over the years in my career.
Unfortunately my two would be staying home. Ali had meetings and Esmaè had a doctors appointment, it was just a general check up and then she'd have a quick scan of her heart again to make sure everything was still alright. I didn't want to miss it I wanted to be right there with her at her doctors appointment, making sure she was ok. But I had a race. It was my job.
It was in my contract, over the last eight months since our daughters born, I'd be lying if I said I hadn't thought about retiring, my family would always come first but racing still held a massive place in my heart. I wasn't sure what I wanted but I knew I didn't want to miss a single moment with them.
I knew I'd miss Ali and Esmaè. I'd be away for a good few days. I didn't want to leave I wanted to be right there with them both.
So up until the point I'd have to leave I wanted to spend the day with my two favourite people.
We were going around Alison's parents house for lunch. I had to leave for my flight at around seven p.m so we had plenty of time to spend together before then.
I walked over to my girls.
"Mommy's back yay!" Alison said in an excited baby voice.
I smiled widely at Es as she looked at me. Now that I was standing infront of them I took Esmaè from Ali and gave my daughter a big kiss.
I held her up above my face a gave her a raspberry on her tummy, earning a squeal of excitement and a couple leg kicks from her dangling legs.
Ali sat on the couch with her legs tucked under her and her arm propped up on the back of it watching us. I situate Es back in my arms before holding her so her belly is on my arm, holding her tightly I move us back before making the baby pretend to fly to Alison who gives her a kiss on the cheek each time.
And Esmaè is smiling so happily.
"Alright this is pilot Esmaè Fields coming in for a special mama kiss, permission to land?" I said 'flying' Esmaè in my arms.
Ali covered her mouth before speaking."Permission granted we are a go for a special mama kiss"
I made a few noises and rumbles before flying Esmaè around the living room slowly so she wouldn't get sick or anything.
Making aeroplane sounds I came close to my wife and 'landed' Esmaè on Alison's lap like a rocket touching down on the moon as the baby squealed happily and then Ali placed a big kiss onto her face to which Esmaè bounced on her thighs.
