With Alison's due date right around the corner my parents had flown in from Aus. I'd insisted they stayed with us during their time over here in Canada, but my dad already booked a hotel. They said that Ali and I should experience all of this precious experience together, just the two of us, and spend time together before the baby got here.
Ali's parents were already here in Vancouver on business, staying in a condo they brought two years ago. Everything was all set for the big day.
By now Alison had had enough of being pregnant. She was in intense pain with her back, and no matter how many back rubs I gave her it didn't help. Her boobs were sore and according to her she looked like a whale, but to me she was still as beautiful as ever.
We were both extremely excited for the birth of our daughter. Nine months sure wasn't a short time I'm just glad we're at the finishing line now and soon enough we'd have Esmaè in our arms.
If baby girl arrives on time in a couple of days, we'd be proud parents to a beautiful little girl. It was still kind of scary for us but the beauty of the whole thing out weighed the scariness for the both of us.
We were ready for this. A new chapter in our story.
The baby bag for the hospital was packed and I don't think there was one thing we forgot to pack. And I don't think we've ever been this organized in either of our life's.
....
Friday morning was upon us and Alison was almost a week passed her due date, guess baby girl didn't want to make an appearance just yet. We were slightly bummed she didn't come when she was due too as we wanted her here. But it was what it was I suppose.
I was in our garage sorting out my motocross bike. Myself and Hanna each had one, although she kept her's in my garage. We'd often go out to a local dirt track spot just outside of the city and have some fun and that's what we were planning to do today. The sun was shining and it couldn't be more perfect.
It was a way to relieve stress. Although there were times when we were being stupid and reckless and had crashed, and needed to call on our girls neither where very happy with all the times they'd had to meet us at a hospital over the years. Usually they'd stop us going out on the dirt bikes for a month, but as soon as they'd forgot about either of our crashes and we'd healed from falling off we were back on the bike's again.
I started up the bike, giving it a few rev's making sure everything was ticking over nicely, which it was.
When I killed the engine I turned hearing my heavily pregnant fiancé who was walking over to me.
"Here I think you're going to need this" she was holding my blue helmet and my jersey, that went over my protective body armour.
My colours for my motocross gear where almost exactly like my gear I had for racing but slightly different.
The motocross jersey and pants I wore where light blue, black and white with my number 80 across the back in yellow.
"I think you'd be right" I laughed taking the gear from Alison's hands, putting the helmet on the handle bars and I slipped the Jersey on over my head.
"You know you're great at remembering all the baby stuff but not so great at remembering the stuff you need. Like the important safety gear" she smirked.
I walked over putting my hands on her hips bringing her into my body close, her hands resting on my chest as they always seemed to do whenever I brought her into my body like this.
"I care more about all the baby stuff"
She smiles "Your cute" she places a kiss to my lips.
"Ah so this is why you're always late" we both turned to find Hanna and Ella walking up the driveway and into the massive garage. Hanna dressed in her all black gear with her white boots.
