The nurse came around to discharge Alison so that we could go home as a family.

It felt weird that we were going to be taking a baby home after all those months of her in Ali's tummy, but it was oddly an overwhelming experience that we were. And I couldn't be more excited, we couldn't be more excited.

"Alright, you ready to see your home Esmaè?" I asked the baby who looked up at me from her car seat that was placed on top of the bed.

"Either she's confused or making the poop face" Alison said through a laugh.

"Hold on we better check her" she said after putting all our flowers, balloons and congratulation cards down on the neatly made hospital bed.

"We don't want you uncomfortable for the car ride home do we? No we don't" she makes a silly face at the baby. I loved hearing Alison's baby voice it was so sweet, and full of love.

She quickly checks our daughter gently unstrapping her from the car seat she was in and laying her down on the bed.

She was all clean, guess we'd have to work on separating her confused face from the poop face. But I'm sure over time we'd figure it out and be able to tell between the two.

Once Alison strapped her back into the car seat we were all set to head off home.

I picked up the car seat while Ali collected all the things our friends and family had gifted us. We stop off at the nurses station and gave them the gifts we bought them as a thanks for being so amazing with the delivery of Esmaè. We had only got them a little something mainly chocolates and flowers but they seemed super grateful for them, seeing the smiles on there faces and the gratitude was worth getting them something at least.

"Hospital security has seen some photographers outside the front of the building, he moved them on and is waiting at the back for you. Hanna said she'd already parked your car there last night" One of the nurses said after we'd given them all a thank you.

I was grateful to Hanna I asked her through text just after she left us yesterday to move my car for me which of course she said no problem to.

Due to my high profile job the paps had gotten wind that Alison was in the hospital and might possibly be giving birth. So like the pests they are, they where waiting outside to get a shot of our daughter if that was why we were in here. Well little did they know thats exactly the reason why we were here.

As nice as they were the staff here at the hospital allowed us to use the back entrance where they exited and entered the building for when they'd have their breaks.

We were thankful they let us use that as a way to exit without being snapped by any awaiting cameras.

We were escorted down to the exit by the lovely nurse Kingston where we met the security guard.

Before we left out the door Ali moved in front of me to shut the canopy on the car seat I was carrying to help block the sunlight from Esmaè and also help keep out any prying eyes from catching a glimpse of her.

If anybody was going to take and release photos of our child it would be us.

When we made it to the car I hand Alison the keys from my left hand, she unlocks the door and I hoist the car seat in with our tiny newborn sat inside not having a clue what was going on I'm sure.

Alison put all the gifts into the trunk of our Range Rover Velar whilst I moved the car seat into position and grabbed the seat belt beginning to fasten the car seat in with great difficulty.

"How do you.. does this go.. No.. ok.. Maybe if I.." I said mumbling to myself. I try put the seat belt behind, nope that didn't work, I tried pulling it over the canopy no such luck there either I guess they don't make a first time parent friendly car seat.
