Hanna pov

As I was cleaning clothes away in our bedroom I heard the sounds of small murmurs coming from the baby monitor and a smile immediately grew.

Ella was at the grocery store while I stayed home with Harper-Rain as she was napping and we didnt want to wake her just for that sake, when one of us could go solo, it wasnt a full shop anyway so it's not like Ella would be gone long.

I put down the shirt I was hanging up and made my way into our daughters nursery. At night she slept in our room but for naps during the day we put her in the nursery to get her accustomed to the room.

When I reached her room she was staring up at the ceiling, her small legs up and hands waving around. When I peaked over into the crib her bright eyes locked onto me and she started kicking her legs.

She was only two weeks old but I think she was beginning to learn who me and Ella were. Anytime we walked into a room her eyes would immediately fine one of us.

"Hey pretty girl" I reached into the crib and picked her up, brought her in close to me and kissed her head.

I took her over to the changing table and changed her diaper for a fresh clean one, before putting on a fresh new onesie too.

Carrying her down the stairs and into the kitchen, I opened up the fridge door to grab Harper-Rain's milk. Ella had pumped last night so we had a couple fresh bottles that just needed warming up.

I put the already filled baby bottle into the warming appliance and switched it on. By now I had the parent thing down, I could stop her crying, change a dirty diaper in record time and I learnt to do everything one handed. I joked that was becoming my greatest skill.

When the bottle was warm enough I wiped it off and took a seat at the dining table, checked it was the right temperature. Popping the cap off the bottle I gave it to Harper-Rain and she began to drink.

Call it weird but I loved watching her eat because this way I got to really take her all in. I got to see her eyes as they darted around the room, her cute nose as it moved as she ate, her small delicate fingers with her tiny fingernails, her long legs bent at the knee as they rested on my lap and her small toes that curled over.

She was so beautiful. It may of been big headed of me but my god Ella and I did a good job making her.

I heard the car pull up outside before I heard the keys in the door soon enough Ella walked into the kitchen putting a bag on the breakfast bar.

She washed her hands before coming over to where I was sat. Ella was crazy about not exposing Harper-Rain to gems, everytime I came back from the store, a workout or filling the car up with gas I had to wash my hands before touching the baby, she had read an article on some mothers daily blog and that's where this while nonsense was born from. Of course I didnt tell her I thought that was total bullshit, I wasn't stupid.

When she dried her hands she came over to me and the baby. Kissing my lips before running her hand over the babys head and running a soft finger down her cheek. She kissed the babys head.

"Did you manage to get the wipes?" I asked.

"Yeah the lady said they could work"

I took the bottle from Harper-Rain's mouth, to which she began to cry and placed the half empty bottle on the table before I passed the baby to my wife who got comfortable then proceeded to continue feeding her the bottle as the crys stopped.

I walked over and unpacked the groceries I read over the new wipes and they sounded like they would be ok.

A few days ago when Ella was changing the baby she noticed there was a rash on her backside that was very different from diaper rash. Right away we phoned our doctor and he told us it could potentially be a reaction to the wipes we used to clean her up with.
