The silence was lingering in every corner. The velvety opaque billows of hazy clouds enveloped the empyrean. Darkness was lurking in every corner inside the labyrinth of narrow passages and dead ends. Everything was smelling vaguely damp as if preparing for the moisture to come.
The muted orange bulb barely lighted the area surrounding it which specifically did nothing but only cool down my blood. The bunch of shopping bags was now helplessly lying on the hard concrete floor.
My biggest nightmare came true.
I whimpered as two giant hands harshly grappled my shuddering shoulders, crushing them.
Suddenly my breath hitched as the horrible tangerine light fell on the face in front of me. To my consternation, the man wasn't anything like I imagined.
A deep scar traveled down the rough slender cheeks, the lips were an indecent shade of brown, probably a result of smoking. They were also slightly injured in the corner, a pair of narrow bloodshot eyes. Damp hair stuck to the forehead giving a peek of the minor bruises placed on it.
I tightly closed my eyes in perturbation. There is no escape.
Lightning spiked through the black sky followed by a piercing clap of thunder.
The nameless man forcefully pressed his body against mine with a smirk plastered on his bare lips making a feeling of intense disgust rise in me.
I balled my fist as the man leaned in towards my ear and stopped when he was so close that his dry lips were gently brushing against my earlobe. I pushed my head backward wishing to increase the distance between us but of course, my head couldn't break through the walls of the building so nothing happened at all.
His warm yet perilous breath was continuously hitting my ear making my lips quiver which I then bit harshly in order to hide.
He took a big sniff, taking in all my scent.
"So tempting you are." Just those four words made my legs go weak and unable to carry my weight anymore.
I just can't happen to believe the fact that all this was happening, everything was coming to an end right before my eyes and I can do nothing but simply watch and endure it all. Is it really that easy that I can just silently let it all demolish without trying to prevent it?
Though I'm hopeless in this situation I won't break down, I'll stand strong and wait till the very end. I stood up firmly and looked directly into the faded pair of eyes though deep inside I was breaking into pieces. The man sniggered scanning my face.
"I see, not scared huh?" He said as his hands smoothly traveled down from my shoulders to my wrist tightly gripping it. I wouldn't be emphasizing if I said that his touch made me feel nauseous.
The drizzle has begun, in a split second everything became scarier.
The tiny crystalline drops of water hung from my lashes and trickled down my cheeks and lips. My entire body was soaked up and shivering. My heart was beating so fast that I lost track of it, my throat was aching.
I was just waiting for everything to go black so that I can wake up in my bed cause if this is a dream then I want to wake up.
I regretted everything, just minutes ago everything was okay, I chose to ruin it.
Even through the blinding rain, I saw the man flashing a devilish smile and the next thing I knew that his face was inching closer with every second that passed away. Tension rose in me.
I shook my entire body but that didn't do anything except that his grip on my wrist became tighter and intolerable. I was running out of time because his face was already too close.
