Minhyun sat on his bed after taking a shower and putting on clean clothes, feeling distraught in ways he couldn't explain. He knew he shouldn't be affected by the news of the wedding as abrupt as it was since that was the whole reason why Baekho was even here in the first place. Yet he was. Feeling something he hadn't really felt before and he didn't know why. He couldn't even explain the feeling if he tried. All he knew was he just wished everything that happened earlier at the bridge hadn't happened. And that Baekho and him were just two people in this world who never knew each other. Never crossed paths. Maybe he wouldn't feel this way then.
There was a knock resounding on the door and Minhyun's first guess was the maid. He opened it and he was right unsurprisingly. Why would he even expect it to be that annoying male? Though he would be lying if he said he didn't. She requested his presence at the dining room and he obliged, following her to the dining room where his parents sat with Baekho and Eun Jung as well. Baekho looked at Minhyun with eyes holding some emotion the taller male couldn't decipher but decided to look away from while Eun Jung just kept her head down.
"Minhyun, so glad for you to join us," Min Seok said as Minhyun took his seat at the table. "I have some news."
Minhyun already knew what the news was but didn't say anything. He just nodded and waited for his father to continue.
"Baekho and Eun Jung will be getting married next week. You get to be Baekho's man of honor," Min Seok announced to all three youngsters' horror.
"Wait. I don't even get to choose who gets to be my best man?!" Baekho snapped and Minhyun felt his heart clench at that moment. He blinked and kept a steady expression.
"No. I told your father of your actions the other day and he was really upset with you. So..."
"My actions upset him?! Minhyun is your son! And you don't even seem to bat an eyelash when he got kidnapped! Do you have no heart?!" Baekho yelled while standing up.
"You put my daughter in danger. At point blank range of a gun," Min Seok said harshly. "If there was any other choice, I wouldn't even have you as my son in law."
"Then don't! You're crazy anyways and I want nothing to do with y-" Before Baekho could finish his sentence, Minhyun had stood up and slapped him across the cheek again. Everyone at the table gasped. Baekho glared at the taller male before his glare softened when he saw Minhyun's expression that was stone cold. He didn't want to see that kind of expression from the other.
"Enough. This is disappointing behavior for a Prince to act," Minhyun said sternly.
"That's right. I'm a disappointing person. No matter what I do, it's always wrong, isn't it?" Baekho said in a shaky tone and eyes that started to water. He left the dining room before anyone could stop him. Minhyun looked at his own hand again. That was the second time he had slapped someone on impulse, both times being Baekho. He couldn't understand why but he just wanted Baekho to stop and he didn't know how else than to actually use actions to speak to him.
"I'm sorry. I shouldn't have done that," Minhyun said softly before excusing himself from the dining room as well. Instead of going back to his room which he really wanted to, he started searching for Baekho instead. He couldn't have gone far, right? It took Minhyun awhile since he didn't know the other that well yet but he eventually found the sulking male in the garden by himself in the resting area. Baekho was rubbing his eyes furiously while sobbing, legs folded onto the bench to Minhyun's dissatisfaction. He walked over and sat down beside the crying male who hadn't noticed him yet. His sobs paused when Minhyun took out a handkerchief and placed it against his arm. Baekho looked up at him with surprised teary eyes.
"What are you doing here?" Baekho asked while sniffling.
"I'm sorry," Minhyun said. "I came here to tell you that. I shouldn't have done that."
